Hello!

Im considering buying Topping NX4 but im not sure of that just because the output power. Im currently using xduoo x3ii which provides 212 mw/32 ohms while Topping provides 293mW a 32 Ohms, and I think it isnt high enough.

My headphones are Beyerdynamic dt1770 pro and AKG k712 pro, and I was offered a Xduoo xd-05 too, which is much more powerful but I dont know how it measures

What should I do???

Thank you and excuse my english!

The DT1770 requires quite a lot of voltage. You need to look for an amp that can provide at least 100mW in 300 Ohm
The NX4 is 56mW in 300 Ohm so just a few dB short. Not a problem unless you ant to play really loud.
The xduoo x3ii will be around 25mW in 300 Ohm, the XD05 will also be around 50mW in 300Ohm
Maybe this could be enough when you do not play at loud levels.

other than volume... there is another advantage/disadvantage of not having 100mW for 300ohm? :)

Having enough headroom ensures your amp will not clip before the headphone itself starts to sound nasty.

When one is only listening at sensible listening levels you don't need much available power (voltage).
Those that like to turn the volume up (shortly even) now and then needs a LOT more power.
Going 10dB louder requires 3x the voltage (10x more power), going 20dB louder requires 10x the output voltage (100x more power) yet it only sounds 4x louder.
To ensure everything sounds fine even at impressively loud levels you thus need the mentioned power. Not if one is a sensible guy and only listens at sensible or lower levels.
