Popping D50 iii with dead USB

Just received D50 iii and no matter what I try, no sound from the USB input. DAC detected by iPad. Coax input works. Reset to factory specs and still no USB. I assume the unit is faulty and am sending it back unless I have missed something.,...

I would send it back ..

The remote doesn't work either! I have gone through three or four DACs with problems like this....is it typical?

No..

Well. When it was released some had trouble with pairing the remote to the unit.

Well, I just opened another D50 iii from amazon and although this one works with a remote, I can only get a very low output from it in usb selection. Tried with an iPad and a iPhone.....same thing! Gone back to a regular D50 which is working fine.....quite ridiculous!
