This is a Subjective Topic and conversation about what Sounds Best! Demanding scientific proof is meaningless and continuing to argue that point repeatedly is harassment. Several post deleted a warning issued and a Perm thread ban dropped.

Carry On!

Can someone post a link to the Crinacle preset info? I want to try it out.

Hi I'll throw in my novice opinion. I don't have much experience w/ headphones, this is the first time I've ever tried EQ on anything.

I really didn't like Oratorys! I was expecting greatness based on the hype, but the mids sounded very unnratural, way too much boost on 1.9K. He really beefed up the bass nicely though. Compared to Amir, who's tune is MUCH more delicate, WAY less of a difference compared to stock. With Amir's tune, I struggle to notice a difference w/ his two bass bands. I'll probably use the bass shelf from Oratory, and the 1.9K tune that Amir has, that is AWESOME!

I like bright highs, I'm currently rocking this for the treble and really liking it!

High Shelf 9500hz, +3dB, Q0.71

I don’t like the dip caused by the Harman Low shelf filter around 250 Hz. Amir doesn’t correct for it and I appreciate that.

That's not to Harman 2018, that's to the AutoEQ target:

No worries. It's a common criticism of AutoEQ that it's not clearly explained how the target curve is not stock Harman.
So those are not the Crinacle measurements? I need to know what to enter into the PEQ

Sorry, those PEQ settings were Crinacle's measurements EQd to the AutoEQ target. Based on the graph posted above by StaticV3, it's the same as Harman, but with less bass below 200 Hz, maxing out at 2 dB less at about 60 Hz.

If you want Crinacle EQd to Harman, I can try to generate the PEQ settings for you with AutoEQ command line.

is it this one? PDF

i have APO eq so i just put the values manually? i can't find this preset on autoEQ.app
Attached below is oratory1990's PEQ preset for the HE400se, converted to a .txt file which you can load into Equalizer APO using the "Include configuration file" block.

Please add a Preamp block first and set it to -10dB.

Below that, the Include block where you load the preset.

You need to copy the .txt file into C:\Program Files\EqualizerAPO\config for EQApo to be able to read the file.

After you've loaded the preset, you can turn just the EQ On/Off by toggling the Include block On/Off, to listen if you like the change.

To fine-tune the preset, you can click the green arrow in the Include block.
A new tab will open where you can try reducing the 1900Hz filter to +5dB, or try following oratory's instructions:

Wow thank you so much for the help, I got the HE400se today and I’m about to pick up Fiio K11 later today. So exited to test it out after work.

Keep in mind that changing the EQ values in the green arrow tab will also overwrite the contents of the .txt file

Consider keeping a copy in your downloads folder or elsewhere.

Started using my gear and applied the file from you and oh my god i'm sitting there like a kid smiling to myself while listening to my favourite music again instead of going to sleep xD

so far medium gain and volume of around 80-90 fullfills my needs for the volume level, is it worth getting balanced cable for these headphones?

A balanced cable won't increase sound quality, just available volume on some Amps.
