This poll is for consumers to state their choice. Is asking for the person who will run the company to say something a big ask? Dismissing people's valid requests right away is a strange way to conduct a new business.

And that is the only topic of this thread. I am not seeking more information than that about the OP. If you have concerns that would keep you from buying these speakers, then that is that. This is not the thread to state that or ask about it.

Dismissing people's valid requests right away is a strange way to conduct a new business.

A thread on that topic ran for days and days. It is linked to in the OP. Everything that needed to be said, was said, including the use of Desperate Dealer subforum.

We went over this extensively in the original announcement thread. Briefly, what is changed is my brother being interested and willing to run such a business. He had asked me what products to sell and I discouraged him until the Ascilab speakers came along. They are so superbly optimized while keeping costs down. The fact that they did not yet have US distribution, added to the attractiveness of starting this business.


Prior to even starting ASR, I founded Madrona Digital which carries a number of brands I review. You will see a disclaimer in my reviews when this happens. In more than one occasion, I have given thumbs down on some of these products. At the same time, speakers like Revel have gotten positive reviews as they should -- they literally invented the protocols we use for analysis of speakers. Ascilab is doing the same thing by following the science religouslly. So I don't foresee a stinker product from them as to put me in a spot of not recommending them. But if they are there, that is what will happen. Again, as i have done for some of the products that Madrona carries.

Ultimately, 90% of the review is the objective part. And you all get to vote in the poll. My ability to skew review results as such, is extremely limited.

Again, all of this was hashed out in the announcement thread. I prefer that we don't revisit them.

Are ascilab certain about the product timeline for unreleased models.
Will they cater to demand given suitable desired specification.
I would be interested in 8 inch passive models or even 5 inch passives.
It seems the only 5 inch in their current scheduled product timeline is the c5c active speakers which has no recent discussions.
And the non hypex active models would be even less wellknown.

11,000 Dollar for a small bookcase 2 way speaker's with essentialy standard good build woofer for extra 16 500,I must have missed something because I really don't understand the price difference.Of course if the sound improvement corresponds to a percentage of the price, but we all know that's not true.Better drivers might improve the sound by 5-10%, but double, triple and 15 times double the money is just snake oil in my book I don't care what finishing they have sorry but that is how I look at that subject.
I mean there are rich people but rich people don't buy some new company name Ascilab speakers.They will buy a house, a car and things like that.
Poor average Joe who buys A,C model will have to work alot to pay for simple speaker with some quality parts.

Our shipment is sometime this month. It will be coming by boat (due to large size) so will take a month or so. I would say at best it would be late September but likely October. Of course we are anxious to get it as soon as possible.

Looking at the roadmap of products, there is no full tower speakers, I would like to know if that would even be considered as this is an Asian brand and in their domestic market, tower speakers aren't as prevalent due to space limitations and they are already offering add on bass modules.

But I think the North American market would very much look forward to full tower speakers; especially an all Purifi driver full tower.

AsciLab C8T is developing.
I’m satisfied with the first result.

The woofer position will be a bit differed to get more smooth response.

Cause the bass roll off is quite smooth and deep, in room response will be easily down to 20-30Hz.
40 to 80Hz -6dB/oct, 20 to 40Hz -10dB/oct.

This speaker has more deep controlled directivity down to 200Hz. It’s rare to see as a passive speaker. It’s almost cardioid speaker.

How do you guys think about this beast?
