Judging about the curiosity people have about the speakers a fixed restocking fee is maybe not the worst idea.
People testing and returning gear has turned into an epidemic with a good impact at original prices I hear.
.. that would include Amirm I guess... :);)

I'm not in the US. In China, it seems the only option is to buy it directly from the official website.
I think purifi version would be better.

The A6B was originally going to be released until they decided to abandon it to change to the Purify tweeter. Due to the strong community feedback, they decided to keep the A6B and also develop the S6B. A6B production is on hold while they focus on the current C/F line production.

I like the A6B. Keeping it was a good call. The Purifi tweeter could easily add another $1000 to the price of a pair. Might be worth it for some, but unlikely for me.

The F6BS has all the virtues of ascilb's engineering methodology and for the right price. I don't see a a worthwhile improvement in measurements for the other models when adding my own subs, the economical thing to do and the ability to deal with the room modes properly.

Integrated amplification for speakers is something I will not consider and the cardioid advantage is the same as me setting up those subs properly to mitigate the usual sub bass issues.

That is how I would proceed to outdo the performance of many speakers costing thousands more, including ascilab's.

Source?

A6Bs I believe are just waiting for drivers from Purifi which should arrive any time.

What plate amps do they use for non-hypex active speakers.
How about for cardioid models?

I'm not in the market for speakers, fully converted to iem listening for various reasons, but I'd probably go with F6b model if i had to.

As hopefully most of you have read, I have started a new venture to distribute/market Ascilab speakers. We have to shortly put in an order for the initial shipment. Key is deciding which models to bring here. Hate to bring too many of one, and then run out of another. I would very much appreciate it if the North American members vote in the poll which models they would seriously consider purchasing and if so, what color preference you have (white, black and I think silver is available). There are three models, two of which I have reviewed and the third one, Erin has:

F6Bs sealed bookshelf: https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/ascilab-f6bs-speaker-review.63324/

Sealed compact bookshelf. Approximate cost: $725.

F6B passive radiator bookshelf: https://www.audiosciencereview.com/...s/ascilab-f6b-bookshelf-speaker-review.63387/
index.php

Larger cabinet with passive radiator. Approximate pricing is $835 a pair.

I have not reviewed this as mentioned but is the F6B with higher fidelity mid-woofer. Approximate cost: $1,145.

If anyone wants to make sure you get a unit, please send me a message with title of ASCILAB Purchase and mention which model you want to be inline for.

Current delivery forecast is two months from now.

You are welcome to also post and comment on what you think will be popular if don't intend to purchase.

Much appreciated. :)

Asci me Amir!!!!! Woo hoo!!!!

Hey ASR, first time poster here, after years of lurking and being happy with every purchase decision I made that was influenced by this forum's suggestions.

I would order the F6B, well, I actually ordered it already a few weeks ago. But I got the mail, that the shipping date is expected in July. Though I have to say, with this increase in demand in their products I doubt that I'll see my speakers soon.

My question, would it make sense to cancel my order there and order via your @amirm 's brother company?

Cheers

Our large order require a month of production and a month of shipping. If you can wait for that, then we will provide local support. Otherwise you are welcome to wait for your order to ship from Korea.

They have incredibly optimized the design though advanced techniques and state of the art instrumentation. And all the while, priced them quite reasonably.

On the logistical side, buying small electronics from China is one thing. But buying a large and heavy speaker is another. Damage can occur and getting this fixed can be quite slow and onerous. So makes sense to set up local distribution especially since current shipping costs are in the order of $200.

So here we are.

Not trying to egg anyone on. But the all Purifi driver, including tweeter, is coming later on the year. The pricing is more, like 50% more, but buy once instead of upgrade later on.

May consider that one, depending how the product is in real life.

As for any egging, unless Ascilab uses a custom waveguide, the Purifi tweeter is still not available with the larger waveguide. Interestingly, the resulting product would be very similar to the Purifi SPK16 Reference Design. Another cost challenge could be the added notch filtering in the crossover. As I recall, both the woofer and tweeter had notch filters. Implementing them would make for a high parts count crossover.

Already designed I believe.
Keith

Correct, found it buried in the dev thread and is priced about $1200 higher than the A6B. Availability is claimed to be September.

Looks cool but not much info on the Purifi tweeter too judge the value of the added cost.

Lars called it the world's first custom designed waveguide for the Purifi driver.

Ascilab saids they would absolutely design their own custom waveguide when news of the Purifi driver was close.

These Ascilab guys seems to be experts in waveguide design.
