As hopefully most of you have read, I have started a new venture to distribute/market Ascilab speakers. We have to shortly put in an order for the initial shipment. Key is deciding which models to bring here. Hate to bring too many of one, and then run out of another. I would very much appreciate it if the North American members vote in the poll which models they would seriously consider purchasing and if so, what color preference you have (white, black and I think silver is available). There are three models, two of which I have reviewed and the third one, Erin has:

F6Bs sealed bookshelf: https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/ascilab-f6bs-speaker-review.63324/
index.php

Sealed compact bookshelf. Approximate cost: $725.

F6B passive radiator bookshelf: https://www.audiosciencereview.com/...s/ascilab-f6b-bookshelf-speaker-review.63387/
index.php

Larger cabinet with passive radiator. Approximate pricing is $835 a pair.

I have not reviewed this as mentioned but is the F6B with higher fidelity mid-woofer. Approximate cost: $1,145.

If anyone wants to make sure you get a unit, please send me a message with title of ASCILAB Purchase and mention which model you want to be inline for.

Current delivery forecast is two months from now.

You are welcome to also post and comment on what you think will be popular if don't intend to purchase.

Much appreciated. :)

I'm more than likely not buying but I really like the A6B. I have a thing for Purifi woofers.

Good to have interest for future products as well but as JSmith mentioned, the immediate need is the mix of currently available speakers.

I am not buying but i would be interested in F6B passive radiator model. Linear and low distortion. A minor smiley off axis response may also be good.

Also kindly see in future that each model has distinct model no. As F6B and F6Bs can get confused. As letter 's' some times is used in plural sense.
Regards.

I am not buying, but one thing that would be useful feedback imho is that the grilles should be offered in a color matched manner. Once you get to a certain level of performance, it will be hard to promote the Ascilab speakers as an upgrade to someone who currently owns a Neuman, Genelec, KEF, or Revel setup. You can nitpick, and there are arguments for a first time buyer to go Ascilab — but there is no conquest element.

That said, if you have two equally good sounding speakers, but one is a lot more attractive in a residential environment, that will open up a lot of interest.

The Meyer Sound Amie is too industrial looking to be used in a residential environment. Meanwhile the boxy Meyer Sound X20/X40 which are PA speakers get the thumbs up in a living room. As obtrusive as a big box is, it’s less obtrusive with a color matched grille than it is with exposed drivers.

The JBL Stage2 and Focal Vestia are targeting that “lifestyle” look. I don’t think there are many premium sounding speakers with that type of aesthetic.

IMO I wouldn't expect accurate data from the poll, people love to vote on polls whether it applies to them or not (it took me a lot of self control to not vote in this poll, as I live in Australia)

Instinct is to go with 'the greatest'. I voted for sealed as
(i) I already invested in my main room set-up, and these smaller units are the the right size and fit for my second room,
(ii) I already have a nice subwoofer to pair with them,
(iii) My room isn't great and can't be (isn't allowed to be) improved,
(iv) EQ will help close the distance,
(v) Not convinced the additional cost will be heard by me in my setup.

If money was no option AND if C6B measured well enough, it would be them.

I have the sales data from Ascilab. I was surprised that it was heavily tilted toward the C6B. Here we are with the poll nearly agreeing with their stats!

Regardless, we are not going to order exact number but with some buffer.

Thank you everyone for voting!

To me the F6B in white is the sweetspot and a pretty nice speaker. Good option for the US market :)

I don't get the hype with the rotten looking surrounds of the Purifi top model woofers.
It may work in terms of acoustical finesse and distribute some minor resonances, but looks gnawed and invites dust to settle.

Hi @amirm I wish you luck with your venture, and I'm not concerned about impartiality - the data speaks for itself and you have always been careful to identify possible conflicts of interest. All good.

Shouldn't posts like this be on the Desperate Dealers forum though?

If it’s of any help, interest over here has been split pretty evenly split between the models which were available when we placed out first order ((F6B/C6B ) and the models now available the F6B/S and upcoming A6B.
For M/C the sealed version is popular, the F6B for customers who already own a sub and the A6B with those with a slightly higher budget and plan to use them without subs.
To summarise all of the models, sorry not much help,
Keith

If i had no Speakers, i would start with the C6B, as voted. But i have some KefR3 meta, so maybe i will buy a A6B purifi version (~2900$) or a C5C cardioid (active, ~3500$). I think this 3 Models are the greatest Value and will be the most sold ones, If available *and If the aimed prices can be delivered.

As another member already suggested, this kind of posts should go to Desperate Dealers section.
Anyway my preference is C6B in total white, and I suggest a C6B-based budget friendly 3-way passive tower

I voted for F6Bs, as that is the one I would get as it's sealed so better crossed with my sub. I won't be buying one though because it's passive rather than active, and even if it was active then I'm not sure it would be a major upgrade on my current system, but I put in my vote because theoretically that's the one that would fit my needs.

Not in USA so won't vote. For me the only option for an actual potential upgrade from what I have might be some floorstanders. So I'll just observe for some time..
If I had nothing I'd look into F6B och C variant.

Interesting to see the poll, I'm not in the US so I don't vote, but my first choice is the C6B and maybe I'm willing to spent some more for the A6B.
I'm building a house at the moment and new speakers are high on the wishlist. So hopefully in about 6 months the A6B will be available to buy at Audiophonics.
