I chose 2.1 for this poll, even though I spend a very significant amount of time listening in 5.1 for TV/movie content.
I'm surprised so many people do not use a subwoofer...one (or more) is required to meet my definition of high fidelity.
At home? But, yeah, car stereo is an awfully common experience.Outside of that, I have a custom car stereo that actually is what I use the most with music. Also love my sennheiser 6XX and moondrop S8 headphones.
Which I find interesting, sometimes there's a lot of talk from the X:Y crowd about new music recordings for more "immersive" formats. No disrespect intended, but based on some some discussions I thought it'd be a bit more prevalent for music listening by some in here.
I know for a fact soundbars are omnipresent, but not among people that would show any interest in ASR, as confirmed.I'm surprised 3.x is more popular than soundbars in this poll. I'd guess greater than 50% of the general public that spent money on dedicated audio is using soundbars.
"Abhor" seems a bit strong. I have one attached to a small television in my bedroom. It's certainly better than the TV's built-in audio.I know for a fact soundbars are omnipresent, but not among people that would show any interest in ASR, as confirmed.
I abhor them.
that's why i also said we tend to have many systems. i do not allow a TV in my bedroom, but i have a humble Squeezebox Boom with a small sub attached to play for different moods. No doubt some soundbars may do that job."Abhor" seems a bit strong. I have one attached to a small television in my bedroom. It's certainly better than the TV's built-in audio.
Oooh, a Squeezebox Boom. I had a raspberry pi with picoreplayer and an XLR hat plugged into LSR305’s in my bedroom. I never used the system so decided to sell, but I still have Logitech Media Server in a Docker container.that's why i also said we tend to have many systems. i do not allow a TV in my bedroom, but i have a humble Squeezebox Boom with a small sub attached to play for different moods. Well, the great Evelyn Glennie famously listens with her feet and stomach ...Lol, do you have another option?
