These budget speakers have received many positive reviews as a good value bookshelf. They have Spinorama tonality score 4.1, excellent horizontal directivity, reasonable vertical directivity, low distortion and low compression. And with a subwoofer and equalisation they step up to a score of 8.35, placing them with much higher priced speakers.
Spinorama - Polk XT20
I recently installed XT20 left and right and centre (upside down above TV). I am using them with a subwoofer, full-bandwidth room correction, and port plugs. I find the centre excellent for movie dialog, and the left and right are great for music. And yes, I am left with a spare speaker!
