... for my son's upcoming rehearsal dinner. I have been put in charge of compiling a 3 hour playlist and could use some suggestions. I think instrumental is preferred, but not necessarily a requirement.

Thanks in advance!

Try looking at Spotify or Amazon or other streaming playlists for Smooth Jazz, Romantic Jazz, Dinner Party Jazz, etc.- there are a lot of them and are professionally put together. They do all the choosing and DJing for you!

Before I suggest anything....

How old is your son?

I wouldn't want t recommend anything that isn't age appropriate.

How could I forget... Romantic... Dinner...?

I don't know if it is romantic, it's a bigger band.

Maybe better toward the end of a playlist.

Some old Chick Corea, how about Return to Forever? Chuck Mangione (yes, I am biased ;) ), Joe Sample, Earl Klugh, etc. McCoy Tyner. Miles Davis, Bird, Coltrane, Al Hirt, etc. all had various "lover's" albums.

Thanks for the input, everyone! About an hour into my playlist, the bride to be pulled the plug and streamed more millenial oriented Pop music. Oh well -- it was her weekend!

I'm not sure, as I had slipped out of the venue to sip on a gin and tonic and enjoy a little second hand cigarette smoke. If I had to guess, it would
likely to have been a Cole Porter chestnut.
