Please help me identify this JBL Pro speaker!

I suspect it may be a custom build as have not found any exact matches. Closest stock match seems to be a JBL 4344, but tweeter is offset...

Looks like a version of the 4343 but those rectangle ports are unusual.

I think Pioneer used that acoustic lens also but couldn’t find a match for any.

I looked at lansingheritage.org as you probably did but didn't come up with anything.

I can at least reasonably guess that the tweeter is a 2405 and the woofer is a 2231.

It does look like a scaled down and rearranged 4343, but it doesn't have the removable split front baffle and the 10" cone is different.

The speaker has both a JBL Pro badge and the drivers are JBL. So pretty sure is JBL.

I would try and ask JBL

I did try the JBL pro website and it does not even match known 43xx models. These are decades old and so often companies stop providing info after the product has past its useful life.

Thanks, but has the 4341 has the same offset tweeter as the 4344.

It's a home built. It's using an D/E110 for the midrange which was never used in any JBL Studio monitor

It is a hodge podge DIY effort that is using what appears to be a 2220 woofer, a musical instrument 10" mid bass and who knows what compression driver. I'd stay clear unless there is a compelling reason to dig into it deeper.

Thanks all! The JBL docs do indeed suggest it is kit or based on one. The lack of model nameplate would seem to indicate as well. The fact that they belong to a musician may account for the unusual driver combo but had a technical background and was not stingy.

The scary part is the size and weight!
