Any specific thoughts on the Audiophonics Purifi builds vs other options?

I know it's not going to impress anyone with bling but a 4ch NC502 Buckeye will definitely satisfy your needs.

Buckeye is back logged to August now so this really takes them out of the running unfortunately.

ATI has amps that you can have as many channels as you want. Mark Levinson makes a modular design also.

I think the good one wil be released by the end of 2365.
Although it might be pushed back a bit depending on...well, who knows.
Anyway, not clicking before some weeks after Christmas, as the price will surely go down a bit.

Hey all, I made my final decision.

Got a pair of Apollon Purifi stereo minis ordered. I decided to just stick with the OPA1612 to start with. Hoping the wait doesn't drive me too crazy!

Thanks for all the friendly advice here.

Holy Smokes! You went all out. I just looked at the Apollon site and was blown away. If they look anything like the pictures on the web site, they are exceptionally well built and are beautiful. You needed 200 watts per channel and got 425 at 4 ohms. You now have power in spades. The cost is of course more than cheaper offerings but the view inside show a very well thought out design with all the wiring looking neat and taken care of. The rear panel looks gorgeous and I really, really liked the gold plated RCA's available. For home use you very rarely need XLR connectors. So, easy to use on top of looking freaking awesome. I have to say I think I'm jealous! :)

How funny...
I see from the pictures you are obviously using them going one for the top channel and the other one for the bottom channel.

But what about left and right channels...?

:):):):)
:):):)
:):)

I have kind of an odd setup, 4.1 with no center. So one stereo amp for fronts and one amp for surrounds.

I'm one who thinks home theater doesn't require top notch equipment like 2 channel stereo does. With that in mind, I'd advise you take a look at Parasound Zonemaster 2350 or Legacy Audio Powerbloc4. Both use ICEpower 700AS boards.

I was on the fence about a Buckeye or similar but supported my local shop and country and bought an Anthem MCA 225 v2 today. It pairs with My Paradigm Prestige 75F's beautifully! It's my forever amp so I guess Class D will have to wait for next life.
