I see that the latest Bluesound Node has an HDMI input connection. I happen to have an extra Apple TV 4K 3rd generation. Would this setup be capable of streaming Apple’s highest res lossless music?

ATV 4k only does 24/48k right now. The lossless sounds pretty good but I mostly attribute it to having a good quality mix in the new master. Hopefully one day we can get 24/192k from the ATV 4k.

Doing a trial with Apple Music. Just purchased a WIIm streamer. Looking at the Bluesound Node with ethernet access. So will Apple Music/Airplay work with Ethernet only no WIFI? If so, how without wireless? Would ethernet Bluesound Node give me better audio quality. Airplay is new to me I understand I'm playing Apple Music from my Ipad to the Node wirelessly but how if no WI/Fi connection to the Bluesound Node. And (if ethernet Bluesound Node connective works) does ethernet provide airplay connectivity better than a WIFI WIIIM airplay connection? As you can tell I'm confused and new to Airplay

Airplay 2 only works over wifi and is limited to 16/44

Get an external DAC. Plug in an iPad via USB. That is lossless Apple Music then. And switch to the Node for everything else (plug in the Node via SPIDF).

Switch via the DAC's input switcher. Basically the best of both worlds.

Forget the Bluenode get a DAC. For full capability of Apple lossless you need a cable. Streaming will only provide 16/44.

Yeah I don’t use Wi-Fi. Is wired better? I don’t know. I just use it as a practice.

Yeah even though I use the Node in general, for more serious listening I just go USB directly into a Topping D10. Either from PC iPhone or iPad.

Also I go from node to topping via USB so i’m not needing to pull the Spidf cable there. I just take out usb from the node to topping and connect a pc there instead.

Actually any usb switcher works there like the cable matters RF remote switcher.
