Pioneer releases new Elite flagship AVR VSX-LX805 with XLR inputs/outputs for front L/R channels

Well... I just bought one of these from Best Buy for $1,700. 2 years @ 0% so $70/mo. I don't have a car note anymore so I make crazy impulse decisions like this, but I'll pay it off in a year. I probably should have just bought a new PC like I really want but I kinda missed the boat on that and we all know what the prices look like when it comes to that now.

Anyway, this will be going in the living room, where I spend most of my time. It will be replacing the infamous RZ50, which is well loved here. JK, I actually do love my RZ50, and it will be getting moved to my bedroom, and then I will put my Denon 6700 in the loft replacing the 3700 which will go in the guest bedroom. Man, I'm really not looking forward to rewiring 4 different set-ups, now that I think about it... but I will take it one day at a time. Anyway I will report back on my thoughts when it gets here!

Also kinda funny there was so much talk about this AVR, up until it's release, then the conversation just died off.

Pioneer Elite was always the "red-headed step-child" of the PAC group and now it's up for adoption!

I would love for Pioneer to find a home but I think it will only exist in name only as it joins the others in the audio greats of the past.

The entire home audio range from Pioneer is currently looking for a home....

But in todays marketplace.... I don't see any interest out there.... the brand may simply get shelved as a home audio/AV brand.

Got this thing today... it was too big to go in the living room TV stand, so I had to hook it up in the loft, where I have an amp powering the front 3 speakers, so I guess I will only hear and improvement from my surrounds and atmos fronts since they are the only speakers that will benefit from the added power (it replaced a Denon 3700 which I moved to the guest bedroom, sounds great hooked up to my old Martin Logan preface system. Gonna play an Atmos compatible game and watch an Atmos movie later to see if I notice any improvement
