I don't believe 805 does Tidal Connect or supports Tidal Atmos tracks, does it?

Are you feeding the Tidal Atmos to it using a streamer?

The DRX-8.4 does support Tidal Connect, but the interface is crap. I use the Tidal app on the NVIDIA Shield, which outputs Atmos straight through HDMI. I am hopeful PAC will support Atmos and multi-channel music through Roon as I have some albums in Atmos, Auro3D, and multi-channel FLAC.

What is "PAC"?

Yes, I am hoping Pioneer and Roon will provide MCH Flac, but I am highly doubtful about Roon providing Atmos because Roon platform doesn't even support Atmos right now, which is strange because Atmos music is so prevalent on several major streaming platforms already.

Premium Audio Company (PAC) is the company which owns Pioneer, Onkyo, Integra, Klipsch, and others (itself owned by Voxx). Yes lack of Atmos support on Roon is disappointing particularly since it's so prevalent these days as you point out. If we start seeing more MCH Roon endpoints like these AVRs, maybe it'll light a fire under Roon to add support.

Over at avsforums, it is reported that accessing http://ReceiverIP/websetup.htm with ciuser as username/password will lead to a blank screen. I can confirm this.

Just in case anyone is not there, have you tested if your 805 can access websetup? eg. @tapornap113

I will try tonight if I get a chance. I just read that the last update upgraded the web setup so I am curious.

I previously had this issue with my 805 (I first commented on it over on avsforums), but just letting everyone know here that after the most recent firmware update I did earlier this week, full websetup now works with ciuser/ciuser credentials.

I still believe in Pioneer the Lx805 is looking like what I’ll be getting (replacing Yamaha rxa8a) n I actually had a cinema 40 on order but no longer cuz with marantz they expect you to overlook what your getting and you are simply paying a surcharge for a name that people who know nothing about audio know that marantz is good. Unfortunately I also have to look at the value and there just isn’t enough there. I do own a McIntosh pre amp tho but that’s different I may be paying for a name but there is so much musical satisfaction from it I justify it llol

could describe your experience in differences between the lx805 vs a8a for movies and music?

Anyone have any clue what the difference is between the, VSA-LX805 vs VSX-LX805? I was looking at the dirac website to see if there was any ART licenses for 805 but saw two versions of the 805?! Images shows the 'Elite' lable on one of them, the VSX, but not on the VSA. But I still cant find any spec difference?

VSA is the European model. It does not have the Elite branding as you have noticed and IIRC there is no tuner included. Otherwise it is identical.

So, if you stream through tidal connect on your phone straight to the receiver, it’s seems clear that you cannot get tidal atmos. When you stream straight from the phone to the receiver, can you get any of tidal’s higher res tier music?
