It's a largely theoretical analysis of the problem - they haven't written the app yet, and they expect to narrow the possibilities to a few keys rather than match it exactly. Definitely worth a read, and comparison to things like listening to the sound of your keyboard as you type a password, or getting a phone PIN from the accelerometers.
