Perlisten Owners' Lounge - Discuss all things Perlisten.

Just had a demo on the Blade 1 Meta in a treated room powered by a robust Mark Levinson integrated.

How does it compare with the S7t? Bass is obviously more impressive, digs down deeper and to higher SPL. Imaging was on par, soundstage may have been slightly wider, hard to tell without side by side A/B. There is that exquisite detail on certain nuance that it also was able to replicate like the S7t, but slightly to a lesser degree compared to the S7t.

Excellent speaker, but after hearing this, I think the S7t is a better value and possibly a better speaker with subs.

Has anyone actually sent Perlisten to ASR for measurements? There's plenty of hype around it—let's see some real data.

Not that I am aware of. I own the S7t towers, they are over 120lbs each and retails for $22k plus tax and shipping, there is no way I am sending them to anyone to be measured.

I may entertain the idea if the reviewer can insure it for a brand new pair replacement cost, if they were to be damaged; and that they have to measure it and send it back within 10 days, otherwise, too many days of nothing to listen to. Additionally, they would have to pay for freight to ship a 140lbs package both ways.

And so that you know, Amir wouldn't be able to review it anyway, it's too heavy for him, he didn't even measure his own Salon2.

This is the case for almost all big speakers; no owner of such expensive big speakers is stupid enough to send it to be reviewed unless they are filthy rich. Sorry for being so direct, just putting reality in play here.

Erin, however, did measured a pair of Perlisten bookshelves and he had great things to say about it.

Just for you

Audioholics reviewed in 2021 when it first came out. Since then it is one of the most reviewed and measured speakers.

Off topic a bit, Gene over at Audioholics said the Perlisten S7t LE is the best passive speaker he's have ever heard and the S7t SE easily beats out the Revel F328Be. I used to own the F226Be, it was underwhelming compared to Perlisten's.

Found it for you. Lots of measurements.

It literally says the data is from Perlisten in the spinorama data you linked. The R4S is a smaller surround speaker. Are you asking if you should buy a Perlisten? Have you googled reviews of their R speakers?

I’m aware the data comes directly from Perlisten, as I mentioned earlier. Many of the reviews I’ve come across are from dealers who also sell the speakers, which makes it harder to find truly independent impressions.

It would’ve been great to see some of Perlisten’s speakers—especially the more affordable and compact R Series—reviewed on ASR for a more objective take

Audioholics reviewed a r series.

Anyone know how a pair of the S7T or R7T and some Sonus faber sonetto G2 VIII would go up against each other ? Have an opportunity to get a set of the S7T for around the same price as the SF's. What im mainly looking for is slam on the bass. Heard a set of the R5T's and they where almost exactly what I wanted. Then listened to a pair of SF sonetto G2 V's and was impressed, but not as much. Was aiming for a pair of the G2 VIII to get that extra bass slam and control and I then stumbled across a pair of S7T's for a similar price. Anyone able to chime in ?

Sonus Faber has very little science and I have never seen one with good measured performance. I have heard a few, no buenos from my experience. Also seem like they put all of their money on the aesthetics only.

Oh so its probably a better idea to go with the Perlistens ? Im not super fussed about looks, heck I even think the S/R7T's look good.

Between Perlisten and Sonus Faber, for me personally, it's a no brainier.

Look at Amir and Erin's speaker review long enough, you will get a trend and idea which speakers are top performers.

The other speakers I was looking at where the Arendal 1528 tower 8. Have read they are really similar to the S7T but for a little cheaper.

Thr S7t is objectively better.

I own the S7t, they are the best speakers that I have ever heard. And I don't say this liberally.

Indeed the S7t are best and I have done A2B with 4 people against Sonus Faber Amati G5 and B&W 801 D4 in a store with acoustic treated room.
Guess how we all rated them?
It was in reverse of their price. 3rd B&W, 2nd SF, 1st S7t, which not only saved me money as I went to the store to get the SF but they sounded better with my own amplifier I brought to the store (had the Denon PMA-A110 at the time).
Next day I brought my wife to get the final approval as she thought the SF were more beautiful but when she listened to the S7t she was convinced which made the purchase easier.

What about vs Salon2?

I wish perlisten didn’t have that checkerboard pattern on the drivers. It looks terrible to me like fake carbon fiber

That's funny - I like it - it reminds me of Rockport speakers. Rockport's huge Arrakis (which sadly has been dc'd) was my dream speaker for a long time. But now -- I think it will be the Perlisten S7t Black Edition. Expensive, but not super astronomical like Rockport, VonSchweikert, Wilson, and many other very high-end speaker brands. I think it will prove to be one of the best speakers made (and a bargain for what it is).
