People who went down the ultra high sinad gear route what have you found?

If it's not too much work, you could measure for compression. Start with a high volume where you feel like it sounds good. Increase SPL to where you think it sounds worse.
I know the horn doesn't compress up to at least 105db from previous tests, I stopped at 105 because the umik ran out of headroom. The woofer I haven't tested yet

That's exactly what I did recently, except for half that money, and for the same reasons you did. Good offer DAC for 120 (regular price 200), plus Hypex 252 poweramp for 480. 600 Euromoneys for that transparency and effortless power that together will serve me well for long years and a few decades to come? I consider that a steal.

The "forever system" should and does last 20 years in my opinion. And I'm pleased this kind of thing has become VERY affordable.
I was torn for a while about hypex. Rationally, that would have been fine. But after a lifetime of buying "just enough" to get what I wanted for all things, I decided to over buy and spend the extra $500. Just this once, and only because I have waited a long time to get a system like my current one. Decades.

Very affordable is right. The level of performance at these prices is mind blowing. True also of $100 TPA3255 chip based amps. It is a very good time to live and listen.

Distortion seems really high for a CD, what's the xover point and filter order on it?
Distortion is lowest at the crossover point funnaly enough. It's at 1500hz

Holy resonances batman!
Not a resonance! I had to sum 3 measurements in REW and you need some overlap for it to work. That peak is sum of that overlap.

I don't think you know how to read impedance graphs. Your graph clearly shows a lot of resonances.

other find that it shows to much and loses the love for the music they once held so dear.
Oof. I hope they don’t mean that. I would never let my equipment ruin my love for music.

The charitable interpretation is that the presence of this ‘low SINAD’ equipment is harming their experience of listening on their equipment. But you have to ask about attribution error - is it something the equipment is doing, or something their brain is doing. All signs point to the latter.

Yes overall there are some resonances in the driver. I knew that going in. You commented about that 270 peak and that is not a resonance.
