Passive coaxial hifi speakers

Wasn't aware of them

There are a lot of OEM driver manufacturers except from Seas making coaxial designs for hi-fi applications, like Tangband, Sica, SBA, Peerless, Kartesian, Morel. Not to forget numerous pro audio suppliers like Beyma and B&C.

Some of them have their flaws, but many speaker manufacturers get surprising results out of them.

even the current Mofi designs are surprisingly good.

Not to forget what Andrew Jones was doing previously for TAD Labs and Elac. The former are among the best coaxials in my perception surpassing even KEF and Genelec.

I was referring specifically to the Beryllium-cone designs for TAD in their Reference series, which in comparison with the other sophisticated coaxials are offering a more constant directivity, particularly wider treble dispersion between 2 and 8K, as well as lower frequency extension, both due to the flatter and bigger midrange cone.

Subjectively I found them to be more tonally balanced off-axis and their transparency is among the best I have ever heard, easily the best coaxials.

This comes at a price, though, as they show some narrow-banded interference issues above 10K, and the loudspeakers in which they are available, are horribly expensive.

I can say that others are lagging behind human development in speaker technology and sound quality, as far as all Genelec smart active loudspeakers are concerned, as long as the size of the enclosures themselves corresponds to the same, then honestly the outer dimensions of the competitor, because the outer boundaries of the enclosure define the entire engineer's know-how and quality knowledge of the limits, when it comes to absolute sound quality issues.

The fight for the best always starts with the same enclosure speaker comparisons, and how much difference it corresponds to the benefits brought by its competitor's enclosure in terms of sound quality factors. Different styles of music also create boundaries for what works and what is a weaker performance, or does not work at all with a certain speaker manufacturer. This must be realized sharply and with clear understanding.

Objectively from engineering view the current TOTL Kef and Genelec offerings are more advanced than those basically older TAD designs but I can totally understand that people who prefer wider directivity like you like their tonality more. As a Japan fan I also really like TAD but their value for money is less fortunate, or someone could say my budget for audio is. :D

A small price difference lol

And you need an amp for the tad

Tad is an overpriced and unfortunately manufacturer with old technology. It is not advisable to put your money on it unless the price drops properly and well.

Tad, like many other expensive speaker manufacturers, has the ability to understand the sound of development as an old man who hangs on to the Formula Race against others.

Others passed by days ago.

Now that the obligatory appearance of the Genelec Fanboy Club has been completed, we can return to the original question.
Im interested in looking at some passive coaxial hifi speaker (not for a car)

Audionaut.

At least there is now a better price-performance ratio with this speaker than the previous presentation. About 2000 euros for a pair. Surely for many, just in terms of the size of the bass, a decent hi-fi speaker for rhythmic music. The brown color option is also much nicer to look at than in black.

They are different.
One is the 15 inch coax for about 2000 euros a pair, the other is a 12 inch coax for 1400 euros a pair.

I haven't heard them yet but they get decent testimonials in reviews so I don't think you can go far wrong for the low price.

Vestlyd is to big, im only looking at bookshelf sized speakers

Even when i don'y have 1400/2000 euros i do atleast look at speakers my size (nearfield on a desk)

OK
I think the 12" is a bookshelf sized speaker, but you may see that different.
Really small passive Coaxial are Cabasse IO3 or Riga.
Maybe Reckhorn has a Coax in his Portfolio.
