Parts for Salon 2s?

That was my impression too. Maybe even if I blew one. But both? Just not sure how. I don't know what else it could be. I would hope the driver would below before the crossover smoked.
The big worry is the tweeter. They cost $1000-1200 each. The midrange was around $270 but it’s free for you. I guess the tweeter is free as well.

That's insane, but not unexpected in this day and age where the consumer is treated like an endless piggy bank. Harman International should be ashamed.

It's always a good plan to keep a few spares (tweeters particularly) of speakers you know were either small production volume, expensive, and/or plain hard to get. You know you'll be on your own down the track with a big, fat, dead albatross around your neck.

I had a tweeter replaced as well and I believe it was around 700 euro including tax. Good luck with resolving the issue!

So I opened a warranty request with Harman yesterday, and after a couple of emails back and forth to validate warranty, they're shipping two of the midrange drivers to me at no charge. Tweeters seem fine. How would I know if they were blown? I know the midrange is bad because there's literally no sound/vibration from them. Tweeters are nice and loud with no obvious distortion. I did ask how long they plan to stock parts, and I didn't get a time frame, but they said they have plenty of spares for the Salon2. Most of the parts are stocked in the US, with some in the UK. Harman customer service was quite responsive, and I don't have any complaints. At least as of yet.

That's what I like to hear and very good news.

After you replace the midrange ie solder the wires then you will know if it still doesn’t sound right.

It’s good to know they will have parts for a while as I don’t plan on replacing my salon2 anytime soon. I’d love for them to be my end game speakers.

I just found out my Salon 2 midbass and one of the 8'' woofer developed some edge tear, just dropped a standard email request to ask for Revel if there's possibly some surround replacement part option, anyone had such issue and manage to replace the surround of Salon 2 speaker (notably the 6'' and 8'' driver).

Appreciate if there's any guidance on where to source the part if there's someone had the issue in the past and been through it.

Where are the edge tears located? Near the bolts of the drivers? Could you provide a photo?

it's at the 6' o clock position and its fairly bad

How could something like that happen in the first place? Sun light? Heat? Or is it just the age of the drivers? (BTW how old are your Salon's?)
I really do not know, this is the last of the driver, sits at the bottom of the cabinet, u don't really see it, i realise when i had some big swing of music and the bass sounded a little awkward and only discovered this once I checked every single driver. It's about 5-6 years old.

i am in a tropical country is reasonably hot & humid, so that could be a cause, but definitely no direct sunlight

Is that foam or rubber? It looks like rubber to me. The tear also seems a bit unusual for typical surround wear.
to be fair, I've no clue how it happened till recently i discovered it, hence reaching out to see if there's someone had experience on obtaining parts for the surround rubber for replacement

If I remember correctly, it costs about $3500 to replace the tmwsss of one Salon2.

Tweeter is most expensive then the midrange and so on.

Revel don't have stock Salon2 units, they make the replacements when the request is sent. It takes half ~ one year for the replacements to arrive.

Revel don't sell replacements for surround rubber separately.

This is the answers I got from Korean Revel distributor when I contacted them for A/S, YMMV.

$3.5k for one tweeter replacement is fairly crazy. Half-1 year for part replacement is again another level. I've a request with the Revel's team in US (their part's team), i'll see how that goes, hopefully it isn't anywhere near what you just described :)

These numbers are not true. A tweeter for the salons 2 costs about 1000 US$, a woofer about 400€ in the Netherlands last year... see comments above. And of course they have stocked parts for the salon... they don't produce new when a request comes in.. The big question is for how more long more they're going to have these parts.

I think he means all drivers of one speaker. I replaced one tweeter and one 8 inch driver and some crossover components at the official dealer for something like 1200eu iirc, that included labour and testing/measuring afterwards. Great service

If it wasn’t damaged from unintentional force of some sort, someone banged something against it or something. REVEL should replace that free of charge. Also, after paying that much for speakers you’d think they could give a little break on the cost of driver replacement. Some of the best drivers available are much cheaper.

Yes I meant the whole set of drivers.

It's sad Korean distributor doesn't test the exchanged units afterwards... I wish we had EU level service too.

Hi @BossBunos , i've seen that you replaced the woofer for EUR385 incl 21% tax, I've sent you a message seeing if you could share where did you get it order and if I can have the contact.
