I think most of it is already said in other threads. Some just like to collect and play vinyl records.

I have around 14 phono stages. The waxwing is my only DSP phono stage, and it sounds absolutely superb. It’s vinyl on easy mode. Fixes floored cartridges, recordings and records. Nothing comes close. That’s it. None of my other phono stages can do that, and sound excellent. I used to hold on to the idea of a pure analogue setup, but now I don’t care. The benefits far outweigh the ‘analogue purity’.

My Shure V15-IV +JICO SASB is sensitive to temperature at 28C in living room a hot summer day it is perfectly flat, at 23 C as today, it drops. very easy then to set AIR=1 to restore a flatter response..

No otlher RIAA can do this trick, so easy without scambling for loading plugs.

Adding a loading plug helps below 10k , but not sufficiently above

It's a Brazilian cartridge. Made for hot party.

(And the reason for the JICO top end variations could be different setting of the tension wire.)

On that basis we should probably start asking for temperature in the cartridge measurement thread as well as loading. It might explain some of the variations we usually put down to manufacturing tolerances.
