Parks Audio Waxwing measurements

Where in Europe can I purchase this device?
Generally Amazon - though not amazon UK at the moment.

Amazon.de seems to have it - check your local.

I bought my Puffin directly from Parks Audio.. I suggest you visit Parks Audio website, the purchase link to Amazon is there to.

The Waxwing is not sold direct. I asked since I live a few miles away, but he said now only sold through Amazon.

Unfortunately Amazon.de does not deliver to my country.
Secondly, the price of this device in Europe is 582 EUR.

There is almost nothing left of analogue sound, most vinyl records are released from digital sources, preamplifiers are digital. :)

buying recent records doesn't make much sense in fact... a French contact has a terrible and very apt expression for this...
"du cd qui s use"
"a CD that wears out"..

I managed to get one of the US amazon for £481, breakdown below

Now going in to the site they want they want £654 (basicaly the import fees deposit has gone through the roof). Was told you will get some back, but not how much. Cetainly wouldn't pay an extra £173 for it ($845 in total). Going to cost them sales if left at that price and no clarity in terms of how much you could get back. Would be better going back to what they were doing before. Great product and great support, but Amazon or someone here is now taking the piss!

Order Summary

Item(s) Subtotal:
£391.43
Postage & Packing:
£7.83

Total:
£399.26
Promotion Applied:
-£7.83
Import Fees Deposit:
£89.70

Grand Total:
£481.13

I do not understand your problem . This is what I would have to pay .
Price+ shipping , add 25% on top of that for VAT/import and than add custom handling fee 27usd. Total 650usd at the door.worth every penny..

I recently bought a Waxwing Phono to connect to my Dutch 8c speakers. Currently I'm using a Cambridge CXN v2 streamer with my speakers. It's connected with coax to AES. What would be the best way to connect the Waxwing to my speakers? I am in doubt between two options:

1. Connect the Waxwing to the Cambrdige CXN V2. The Cambridge is then connected to the speakers. I have to switch input on the streamer and the Cambridge is int hat way only used as a passthrough device. Reason I would do this: I don't need an extra converter.
2. An auto spdif coaxial switch. I connect both the streamer and the Waxwing to this switch. The switch to my speakers.

Do you guys think it would matter which option I choose? Since it's vinyl latency wouldn't really be a problem here I guess.

That's if you live in Norway ! In the UK it is now the eqivalent of $845 - nearly twice the price it is in the US, so it is going to have a negative impact on sales. Normally if you are buying imported goods domestically (not importing them directly) it would be the same price as elsewhere or the dollars would just be turned into pounds ($499 to £499) as it would give a 30% uplift in the equivalent dollar price.

Hopefully Park's audio can export some and get Amazon UK , etc. to distribute them or at least go back to the method before where I managed to get one from Amazon US, a few days ago, for $624 (£481) not the $845 (£654) they suddenly want now ! Good product I agree but very poor / inefficient distribution for the non -US market, which is going to cost them sales and ultimately profit, if left as is.

Audibly it won't matter.

Not sure how you are going to control volume if you are going direct into the speakers though. The waxwing app is not so convenient for volume control.

Well , what prevents you from buying from USA or Germany?.is Amazon preventing that now? I often shop from different Amazons.

Edit: Seems like Amazon UK is the problem you can get it in Germany , but higher price than US which is natural since Europe has higher VAT and extra shipping

Speakers have an app. I have to use that app too to control volume of streamer. Streamer cant control volume over digital outputs.

I bought it from the US. The price i quoted $845 £625) is the cost of getting it now from Amazon US and it being delivered to a UK customer. The price I paid a few days ago from Amazon US was $624 (£481) .... When I go to the German site it shows that you can get a Waxwing for 580 Euros (£488) but then says with regards to the UK, "This item cannot be shipped to your selected delivery location. Please choose a different delivery location.

Parks Audio probaly need to consider supplying Amazon UK direct so a similar price (after vat) can be had in the UK to Europe or go back to the arrangement they had with Amazon US re UK deliveries a few days ago. I don't think too many people in the UK are going to fork out $845 for a $499 product ....

Fair enough - then it will make no difference audibly.

Whatever is most convenient for selecting between waxwing and streamer.
