Panasonic SL-NP40 MASH Portable CD Player Measurements

I am not sure, but if lini's cross-reference to Technics models is correct, you might find some information in the manuals for those players, like this one: https://audiocircuit.dk/downloads/technics/Technics-SLXP160-dm-sm.pdf
Thanks, but it doesn't seem to list it. I guess output impedance wasn't much of a consideration in portable devices back in those days.

I have the Panasonic SL-SX270 from around the same era, it doesn't have a line out, but other than that its listed audio output specs in its manual are the same as the Technics.

I was very disappointed in 1995 when I bought a $ 100 Panasonic portable CD player. Most of my reference CDs did not sound right in any settings: line out to my Sony ES integrated, ProAc Studio 100, earbuds or headphones. My conclusion was that I wasted my good money, and the player ended up forgotten in a drawer.

For me, still living in an era of cheap boomboxes, audio cassettes, and FM radio in the mid-to-late 90s, it was a definite upgrade, especially in the portable arena. 40 seconds of anti-shock memory too! That was a big deal as well :)
