Thanks. Apparently the lower you set the pad setting, the lower the self noise.

My KH120a's are on the lowest 94dBu output setting and I still find them louder than I need in my room. I'm wondering if I had the pad on the orbit 11 set to the lowest setting the self noise would be on a par with my KH120a's?

I just tested it. When switching from 0 to -6, the noise decreases slightly. Going from -6 to -20, I hardly notice a difference - maybe a tiny bit less noise.
