Palmer ORBIT 11 Cardioid Coaxial 3-way studio monitor (MSRP 799€/899$)

Frankly, this focus on the orange ring is quite excessive.
Buy a pair, and then you'll find a way to hide this ring, if you really want to.
And if this orange ring is an absolute No Go for you, buy another speaker. There are a lot of very good ones out there.

As for me, I have no problem with the esthetics of this speaker, a lot of monitor speakers are worse than this one in that respect.
Black and orange are two colours that match well, white and orange match less, I admit, but is this so decisive ?
WHen you bring the white and orange one home, serve your significant other an orange creamsicle. There is a long-standing tradition for that color combination.

Do you get the same hiss with no inputs connected?

If both of them are doing this, I very much doubt they are faulty. Monitors have audible hiss, some more than others. You may also have more acute hearing. :)

It could be that they have a particularly noisy combo of D/A and amp module. I had some Barefoots that were quite high self-noise like that.

At 1.5meters his is 40db meassured on my phone just now.. it is very but very noticeable.. didnt notice the first time i was hyped and pumped with excitement so didn't notice then.. if anyone has the same loud his this can a problem.. very fatiguing.. and tinnitus will buzz for days..

At 1.5 metres?
Sure. If you get sensitized to it at closer distance, you can indeed hear it at that distance based on my experience. JBL 305 was one such monitor.

I find that this contributes to it in my case as well. The hiss will trigger it and then when it is not quite audible anymore, the tinnitus noise will be!

Oh to have such a quiet room! ;)

Hi, i noticed today in a quiet room i have a his from the tweeters very prominent 40db meassured at 1.5meters very noticeable.. also checked when in the studio, also there.. cables are trs from audiofuse to analog xlr.. i have ferrite bits in all my cables, they are from roland bought at the roland store, i have a power leveling and surge protector.. i used the same set up with focal solo6's with no his.. can someone tell if their units have that loud his. Please..

My Focals, both the monitors and the floor stands have no his at all.. can u check if your units has the same his when u receive it please.

Im gonna try other set up to see of it goes away.. if not. Scratch them as nearfield monitors, it is impossible to withstand that his for more than 20min..

Would Inline Balanced Attenuators help bringing that internal noise down? If amp noise..
