This is in most European manuals, it must be for some legal reason.

There are probably some disability laws and regulations/compliance if you don't put that in there

They do look much nicer in our living room that way. It only took a few pieces of grille foam and some Velcro stickers (and a little black electrical tape to block the pilot lights). The woofers on the sides, with the grilles on the front just look like artsy sculpture.

Looks like the kinda rough foam they were puting over old loudspeakers.
And now I wanna touch it.
