I have not been active on here a while with PadForge development taking up a good chunk of my free time. If this needs to be posted elsewhere or not at all, I am happy to move or remove this. As a matter of principle, I do not get any revenue or donations from PadForge and in fact my only ask is a gentle suggestion to donate to your favorite charity with no obligation. However, at any rate, I recently had a full circle moment when I realized I could make the headphone audio better for my users. It seemed fitting to share this here on AudioScienceReview as this involves some of the features and technical goodies you guys just eat right up. As of this weekend, a DualSense wirelessly connected to a Windows PC with PadForge in tow can not only get system audio but also have crossfeed and AutoEQ applied to a connect pair of headphones. I cannot vouch for the objective sound quality of the DualSense's DAC and amplifier section (though some enterprising user here could measure it under a scope for science!), but Opus 160kbps stereo audio is the codec Sony opted for. If this scratches any audio technophile itch, enjoy the fruits of the labor of many FOSS projects on the web!
