oversampling, resampling, upsampling, three items are different but interchangable on the internet, here will stick to oversampling

any good oversampling filter out there? most NOS are r2r

this kind of filter only for NOS DACs, not those fancy 9038, 4499 chips which include modern filters (you can build your own ones for fancy chips but that's antoher matter)

hqplayer is costly, with bad ui, clusmy setting, not as easy-to-use as foobar, after a quick search in the plugin section, out of luck, so no one (no foobar users) wanna use NOS DAC with modern DF filter that running on the PC side?

or anyone might wanna create one? it might consume computing power, cpu, gpu, that's fine after all.

Why do that? Smart play is quit using broken as designed DACs. NOS filterless DACs are broken as designed. NOS DACs with a reasonable filter don't need over-sampling. Foobar will do fine or any other good upsampling software. If you just want to be sure then use Foobar, or one of the other bits of software like Sox.

Oversampling and upsampling are not the same thing.
A NOS DAC can not be Oversampling except if the digital flow is redirect to a DAC.
The Oversampling is a part of the job's DAC for the anti aliasing.

PGGB-AP performs very high quality "ludicrously long linear windowed sinc filters (1 Million to 8 Billion taps)". There is a one month free trial. Also, "PGGB-RT is now available as foobar2000 component!" This is the only upsampling software that I have tried that does not worsen the sound compared to the original file with my NOS DAC.
