Has anyone in Canada purchased from Outlaw Audio lately? I've been eying a 5000x and while the shipping cost is significant the total cost is still reasonable for what it is (even after exchange). I'm more than a little hesitant to buy anything cross boarder right now though. Wondering if FedEx will want to collect HST. or an extortionist brokerage fee on top of that. Also curious what actual transit times are like and what the experience is when it comes to warranty (if need be).

I think I’ve bought 3 smaller items over the last year. One was tracked upstate New York then disappeared. It was a very small
Package and they sent a replacement ASAP

No problems in the 10-25 years before thst

I would just look up as many previous reviews as you can find That should give you a good idea. Avoid reviews on manufactures own websites I would give at least as much weight to the negative aspects as the positive on any product

Bought an Outlaw 5000 quite a few years ago. No option on shipping. Too big and heavy for postal. Extortionate duty and especially brokerage fees. A $500 USD item ended up being $1120 CDN.

This is exactly what I fear. I need to find a friend in the US who can get it (with free shipping) and then forward it up here on my terms.
