Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some speakers to put in my pergola for outdoor music and movies.. In the high-end there are a lot of speakers and while I'm drawn to the SF Aster - as I have SF throughout the house - the pricing seems a bit high compared to the other options out there.

The B&W AM-1 is 1/2 the price
The Polk Atrium 8 SDI about 1/4

Did anyone in this forum actually deployed the SF's and are they indeed worth their money .. or am I paying for the nice looks?

I have had the B&W speakers on my patio for a year now. They have a perfect build quality, and their appearance is still like new. The sound is balanced, but they are not really deep bass giants.
I would buy them again and can recommend them.

I agree with BR52. Installed the AM-1s on my back patio a year ago and love them. The patio is covered and driven with a Marantz 40n, and I recently added an SVS 3000 Micro (that is hidden perfectly under an end table) and the whole setup sounds great. Nice bass support from the SVS frees the AM-1s for mid and highs. Classic jazz is crisp and clean, and classic rock can be cranked up to annoy my neighbors. Highly recommended!

I've got Definitive Audio AW6500s on my porch. Really like them. Now sure how they compare to these others.
