Either the review was done correctly and Amir should retract or correct it or Amir did it right and the record stands. Nothing against Amir. The record should reflect a correct test and results and Amir would be the first to agree. I see no flaming.
Amir does the test a certain way - as @SIY mentioned, Black Box testing. Concerns were raised over inaccuracy due to testing methodology. The thread had already reached the point of sufficient information by the time the most recent demands for correction and or removal began. Enough information has been presented to allow a SUT user to make adequate choices.
Amir is unlikely to do anything different for this SUT - it is back with its owner. Amir could decide to test differently if another SUT is ever tested.
This thread probably should close as anything further is "beating the proverbial dead horse".
The issue here was the lack of recognition of the issue. And then the hand-waving attempts to deflect.
Even though it mischaracterizes the performance of this gadget, the review certainly shouldn't be taken down.
Moving forward, it wouldn't be difficult to set up an appropriate I/O interface for his AP to facilitate testing SUT devices.
The recent posts are clearly flaming. (At least in my opinion of the definition of the term.)
Ortofon S-70 actual frequency response Roltelfan at SHF posted sweep files of his X40 with and without the Ortofon S-70. From those data we can extract the effect of the ST-70 SUT with configuration B.. I think he should try config A and see if that makes a more flat response.
Good stuff to quantify. Doubtful most realize how big a tone control a SUT can be, particularly when they make the mistake of treating it like a black box as most do.
I have measured, Xindak MC-10, Ortofon T-5 and Denon AU-320, the same way( by difference in response SUT vs No SUT) Both the T-5 and Denon are flatter than the ST-70 config B in this case
