Opinions / experience with Audiophonics.fr?

I ordered multiple items from them.
I've always been satisfied and will go on.

Just one detail:
Once, I asked, in the comment field with the order, NOT to ship before a certain date, to make sure I'd be home when the packet arrives.
I then received an email saying they were ready to ship.
I immediately called them and they told me they don't read comments attached to orders.
That is weird and unfortunate.

Well, they eventually sent it as requested after my call.

Other than that, all good.

for a large company that handles hundreds if not thousands of packages on a daily basis i think that's to be expected

bought quite a few things from them over the last 5 years or so and never had any issues with them, the stuff i bought (no RMA's) except the local DPD delivery starting to s*ck evermore lately (but that has little to nothing to do with AP themself)

Why to propose a "comment" field on the Order form if you don't read it ?

Other companies, like Thomann or Musictore Köln, just to name 2, always read comments.
And they are way bigger.

They also combine orders to a same destination whenever possible, which Audiophonics also explained they don't do (it's just their software lacking this, I suppose, but for the customer, it ends up with more effort and possibly higher cost.)

That's for sure not a show stopper, and I'll order from them again without a second of doubt.
But it's important that people purchasing from them are aware.
Then they know, like me now, that they'll have to call them for special requests.

That's why I mentioned this.

Same deal with eBay. How many times I've filled out the "message to seller" box and they ignore, or say they didn't read it.

Was just wondering if Audiophonics is trustable.
They are among the very few (or even the only EU dealer) having the Topping D50III and the A50III in the shop.
Was a bit reluctant to place an order.
But reading here, it looks they are trustworthy.

Yes they are trustable and I have had zero problems with them. That said it's an online sale so just use common sense and pay with credit card or paypal etc as you would do for anything else on the net.

I can't buy from them at the moment because they have deleted their forum. Now I wanted to make a preamp with my son's friend, a physicist who loves using soldering iron and screwdriver.
But then we would be launching completely into the unknown. I really like the doing it yourself but have questions about certain parts because if they are chinese there is a risk of reliability problems. Well now these are remarks and not minor criticisms, many acquaintances have bought and manufactured devices thanks to them, they fill a void especially in the desert that the whole of Europe has become in terms of brands in the field which keeps us busy.

Try to be patient, many on this site are not native English speakers and we use an online translator, so some posts may seem strange or have words that seem funny, but please focus on the content of the concept.
Thanks for the generosity , however I don't have a non-native speaker excuse to rely on although I don't believe I need such an excuse on this occasion.

Trustable and Trustworthy are actually both valid words sharing 'Able to be trusted' as their primary meaning although Trustworthy can also have a secondary meaning of 'Can be relied on to tell the truth'.

I'm happy with my use of "Trustable" :)

I've made several purchases from Audiophonics and everything's went well except the last one.

They sent me a broken product with software as well as hardware problems - of which former were known to them prior shipping but not mentioned anywhere on their website. I Was offered a full refund but time will tell how it'll work out.

The end of story: got my money back but the customer service experience was a bit confusing.

I never had any issues whatsoever with this company in the past. They provide solid technical support, are very responsive when you have any questions and develop great products for quite reasonable prices. Also, the buying experience has always been positive to me: they offer a wide range of products that are properly described.

Well he’s from “Down Under” so technically they/he isn’t a native English speaker either. Try understanding folks from Northern England and Scotland. :p

Careful there, 'native English speaker' and 'folks from Scotland' were fortunately in separate sentences but you're sailing a bit close to the wind here :)

Pretty good experience, very reactive customer service, they give some good technical advices (in french) and they got a lightning fast expedition delay. Didn't have to return anything and nothing broke so far so can't really speak about their after-sales service. To me it's the best audiophile shop in the EU right now, I'm still open for suggestions though.

In my book, they are superbly "trustable." :) They have been working with ASR from the time we were just starting to test gear. They are impeccably nice to deal with.

Recently placed 2 small orders over a week-end, and asked them in the comments to 2nd order to merge both in order to save on shipping - comment was read and acted upon, and I received a refund for paid shipping on the 1st order.
Otherwise, placed a number of orders during the past few years, small and not so small, nothing to complain about, be it locally assembled stuff (amps) or aftersales.
Really trustworthiable IME ;)

I needed an audio interface and wanted the new Topping OTG. I had three options to order from, a British site that wouldn’t accept my address, Ali Express, and Audiofonics.fr. The jungle site did not carry it.

TBH, I tried Ali Express second and couldn’t order from my phone.

Audiofonics was my last choice and should not have been. They accepted PayPal, used UPS (boy do I hate FedEx), and the shipped total was less in USD than buying from Topping’s Ali store.

The thing shipped instantly too- I placed the order on the 24th thinking it would take a week or two. It just arrived! It’s the 26th. I’m shocked and very happy with these guys. For reference, I ordered the SMSL DO 100 last week on the jungle site, and I’m still waiting on it.

Audiofonics is going to be my first choice for these products moving forward.

I had a very unpleasant experience with their after sales service.

I bought two products from Audiophonics - an SMSL dac and Audiophonics integrated amp. I returned the amp immediately because of hissing and other quality problems.Contacted after sales service, got a return label for the post. So far so good. Then about a week later I plugged in the dac and it was deficit aswell.

So I contacted the service again, wanting to return the product and opened a new service ticket for returning the dac. Had a little conversation with a support person who apparently gave me the SAME return label to use when shipping the product back to them that I was provided when I returned the deficit amp previously (I did not know that). Then they started to blame me for using an old return label (which they provided). How is a customer supposed to know that documents provided by the ASS (after sales service) were old and should not be used, especially when a totally new ticket was opened for returning the second product? The whole ordeal was almost surrealistic. I got the impression that they had problems with understanding english.

After all the product did find its way to them and I got my money back.

This was first and hopefully last bad experience with Audiophonics for me.

I’m in the US. Audiophonics responded to a question I had within hours. I then ordered a Hypex NC502MP amp from them and received it in a few days.
