OPENHEART Cable Needs Open Heart Surgery

I recently acquired a DCA E3 and wanted an XLR cable rather than the after-market 4.4 mm TRS it came with. I got the one from here having noted no nefarious reviews; but just to be sure, when the cable arrived, I measured it with my dmm and behold! it doesn't follow the specification. So I've bought some connectors and wire and need to disassemble, desolder, resolder and reassemble the cable in order to not have current going in to plastic. I am profoundly displeased: I thought to save time and maybe money by buying a cable, and am having to make it myself anyway!!

Edit: not sure this is the right sub-forum: I figured, that as it involves doing diy, it belongs here

Mine works flawlessly with E3 RME Adi-2/4. If it is just +- reversed, don't touch it.

How was the aftermarket cable wired ?
How is the original cable wired ?

I received two cables with the headphones, which I bought used: the og DCA 6.35 mm unballanced; and an after-market 4.4 mm ballanced one. Both are wired according to the specification I noted in the first post: pins one and two of the headphone plug (a Hirose HR10) are used; pins three and four are not. The OPENHEART xlr cable, on the other hand, has all four pins on the Hirose connector in use; such that:

xlrhr10 leftshould behr10 rightshould be
11, 31------
22, 42------
3------1, 31
4------2, 42

It appears as though one only hears mono sound on the left side and nothing on the right channel or am I interpreting the chart wrong ?

As far as I know:
XLR-1 should be on 1 of Hirose left
XLR-2 should be on 2 of Hirose left
XLR-3 should be on 1 of Hirose right
XLR-4 should be on 2 of Hirose right

So the HR is wired differently for the L and R side of the headphone ?
Hmmm, maybe I made a typo? Left is going left; right is going right. The issue is, that xlr pin 1 is going to left hr10 pin 1 AND pin 3; whereas it should be JUST pin 1; xlr 2 is going to left hr10 2 AND 4; whereas it should be JUST 2 and so on.

On the Hirose it does not matter what is connected to pin 3 and 4 as these are 'open' in the headphone.
That is as long as the 1 and 2 on Hirose are connected correctly to the correct pins on the XLR.

This is so. However, I see utterly no reason for any current to be going in to the plastic of the jack: they're live wires as wired
