My room is open on the left rear corner.

It (according to my observations) creates a dip around 48Hz at the listening position via phase difference of 180 degrees of the standing wave around that frequency with a mono bass signal.

Otherwise, no particular problems are noted.

I could add that without measurement I might not have audibly noticed that aberration.

When the bass is stereo, and not mono, the problem can disappear since the phase alignment is different at the listening position.

What is "bass"?

Is it a type of fish?

Huh

Any thoughts on lack of a wall to reflect/diffract sound on one side of the room?

Said opening doesn't extend all the way to the listening position - the 'wall' (a brick chimney) extends about 3 ft. in front of the listening position on that side.
