Today, Onkyo's dealer in Taiwan released the world first unboxing and hands-on impressions of the high-end Onkyo Icon series stereo preamp “P‑80” and power amplifier “M‑80” on Mobile01—Taiwan’s largest AV forum. The listening experience was shared using Klipsch Forte IV loudspeakers.

According to earlier reports, the P‑80—equipped with dual SUB OUTs—will be Onkyo’s first model to support Dirac Live ART.

The P‑80 and M‑80 are slated for global release by the end of 2025.

Looking forward to the P80.. dual sub out, Dirac , roon , akm chip .. :) just wondering if its fully balanced or if the XLR outputs are just there for convenience.

The manual for the Onkyo P-80 is on the site. There is advertising that the dual sub outs are independent, but in the manual, it says they output the same signal. I also can’t see any crossover options.

That's a very full featured integrated pre-amp: Dirac, HDMI, Roon Ready, MC phono pre-amp, etc. Lovely VU meters too.

My av receiver which I would using as a pre for a stereo setup with two subs is cancelled at the dealer. This one is on the list. Let's hope my dealer (NL) can make a good price.

Less heat and probably less components which can break. Good measurements will be nice, although, I probably won't hear it if it is not that good.

Bit worrit that it’s supposed to be released in like 2 weeks but there are zero hands-on reviews yet

I noticed them now listed on Richer Sounds in UK as "coming soon", with pricing as follows (also available in black):

A-50 Network Stereo (Integrated) Amp: £1199

The P-80 looks most interesting of the trio imo. Hope we get to see measurements

The M80 power amp has Dirac Live.

Could be interested since I like the styling and it has orange VU meters which would match my other electronics, the spec isn't that impressive but it's good enough.

That's a misprint. Only the pre and integrated have Dirac. The power amp has no connection for a mic, usb, or internet.

I am tempted to save up and take a punt on the M-80 next year as I really like the look of it. The P-80 is nice as well but I think I'll stick with my WiiM Ultra as the preamp, because I doubt the P-80 will be much of an improvement from a functionality perspective (I only use the one sub).

Dirac could be an improvement of functionality depending if you like/use DSP

I’m still waiting for more news about the P-80 and its availability in the Netherlands. My dealer has been notified that I want one.

Hi.

Has anyone had a chance to listen to the Finale M-80?
I'd like to upgrade it with the Wii U Ultra.

They're already available in France for €1,599.
Thank you very much.
