A bit of a niche question as I can't seem to find any information about this phenomenon anywhere.
I have a Rotel RA 1070 that I picked up used connected to a pair of Kef R3 meta, no complaints with the sound the pair produce it sounds frankly excellent to my ears.
However, the amp seems to have a bit of a 'warm up' time. Not in the sense that the audio quality improves over time but rather if I try to play music at any kind of volume after immediately turning on the amp the protection circuit will trip and mute the amp. This usually prompts me to pause my music and let the amp get a bit warmer before trying again, after about 5 minutes this problem seems to largely disappear. This seems to happen especially with bass heavy parts of songs which makes me suspect it may be current based but I am unsure if this is due to old/damaged components or maybe just a quirk of these older amplifiers? I could only find one other post mentioning this phenomenon with no answers as to what may be causing it.
Where I live we are currently going in to winter but it is not especially cold, around 15 C but I've noticed this happen at higher temperatures as well.
Appreciate any insights
