I have been a Minolta user in the past, migrated to Sony after the acquisition and remain firmly on the A mount. While E mount cameras a smaller and smarter, the cost to replace like for like was more than I was prepared to invest and the A mount system works just fine anyway. As a bonus the bottom fell out of A mount lens prices, I could easily afford all the vintage G mount lenses I wanted with prices generally in the low hundreds of dollars rather than thousands and so I did.

I typically use a pair of A700 (APS-C) and have done so for a long time in conjunction with the 16-105 lens released at the same time. Results have been consistently good and these cameras have been all over the world with me to record what I see. I also went full frame with one A99. The dilemma here is that the full frame A mount lenses are huge which makes traveling with the A99 a bit of a mission.

I ditched Lightoom for ON1 in 2017 and they aggressively improve their product year on year which means every year I have some new tools to apply to old images. The website is a story for another time but images of the gear at the link below.

Oh, I am a fan (of old cameras & old glass).

& sometimes new(er) cameras and old glass.

That "Mountain Nikkor" actually belongs to my son - he is really a big fan of old glass.

That's a nice collection. I have some vintage cameras I should photograph some time.

I'll just post this here.

This camera was purchased in Japan by my father in law suspect about 1948 when he was part of the British Commonwealth Occupation Force post WWII. I have negs and images taken with this camera in Japan at that time as well. I had it repaired, it still works, however its just an ornament with an interesting back story these days.
