Okto Dac8 Pro alternative?

Nothing beyond what already has come up in this thread, unfortunately.

Topping may launch their 8 channels within three months.

@JohnYang1997 , would it be possible to ensure that this is fully compatible with Linux please? If this is to compete with the Okto dac8PRO, I think this is a must.

Cheers,
Mani.

Would be nice to have the possibility to daisy chain them and have them present themselves on the PC as an interface with more and more channels.
Can't you do that already with a virtual interface to any physical interfaces that can sync clocks (master clock in/out)?

these are the only other two outside of the Aurora DSP which i'm not sure ever left the ground that i've found

i have a miniDSP UDAC8 but it didnt exactly get high regards with Amir's testing

the D90LE is $800 so my guess is $900-1100
Someone in the other thread where it was mentioned (the Okto thread) indicated that they'd heard it was going to be priced under the D90LE. If it's 900-1000 it's right up against the Okto which might be a tough sell. If it comes in around 6-700, it has to compete with the Motu Ultralite Mk5, but might be intriguing as a simple straightforward solution.

Sooooooo, is this just going to be a better measuring soundcard ? If it's just 24\192, I'll keep my Okto Pro 8 (I am not interested in poking the bear over DSD). I've got an Asus Essence 7.1 and an Auzentech Meridian, both with swappable opamps. I've got an extensive library of multichannel DSD albums they won't play natively. The Okto sprays these tracks all over my listening space like mating season at an elephant preserveo_O.
