OK, what are you guys buying yourselves for Christmas?

I have way too many watches (approx. 50) and decided not to purchase anymore. I've only bought one in the past 5 years, a cheap Invicta Tag Huer Monte Carlo clone. I'm doing my best to resist buying the watch below. I have quite a few pocket knives too.

I got a Promaster Skyhawk A-T earlier this year. I still get a chuckle out of how absurd it is. And I'm genuinely impressed that something so small with no visible antenna can pick up the 5km wavelength time code from WWVB in Fort Collins.

Yes, I assumed a proper bicycle... I see lots of people pulling small children around in bike trailers, but not so much for general toting. I wonder how it affects handling?

Three weeks ago after our first rain, (meaning very slippery roads) I was returning home from grocery shopping and had a very heavy load in my rear panniers which I had pushed far astern behind the rear axel to avoid collisions with my large feet... coming around a sharp downhill curve, the rear end decided it was going to lead the show and it broke free and whipped around in front of me. I took one hell of a spill at about 20mph. I dusted off and managed to slowly ride home with my crushed groceries and bent and shredded body.

I have since realigned the panniers and will watch the load limit... a terrifying and painful lesson.
Ouch - coming off a. bike is no fun. DAMHIKT :)

I'll let you know how the handling goes in January. Main application will be grocery shopping.

I was running low on tea, so I ordered something new:

Although I have not sampled this particular sencha before, I've been very happy with other Ippodo teas, and this 155 gram cannister ought to last me longer than the 50 gram packets of their gyokuro (shade-grown, first-flush), but not so long that it becomes stale: Ippodo typically recommends consuming within 5 months.

Have also ordered more thermal paper for my Y600 instant camera. It comes in small rolls, similar to that used in cash registers. Camera is intended as a kid's toy, but I'm finding it sufficiently entertaining that I've gone through most of the 2 bundled rolls of paper already.

I'm sure I'll find some bigger-ticket toy sooner or later, but why hurry to find it :p

Perhaps it's because I'm from Europe, but all the posts about weaponry don't feel okay to me.
It depends on your upbringing - how you were programmed - which is dependent on the customs of parents. Which in turn may be influenced by the country's or region's customs, rules, and regulations.
What works here may not work elsewhere. Which is perfectly fine by me.

You have a choice not to buy. Personally, I find firearms interesting, admire good engineering and craftsmanship, and enjoy using them for perforating targets, but everyone has different hobbies (I have no interest in watches and cars that fascinate so many others, for example).

I just did. The new BYD Song Plus DM-I. The Infinity sound system sounds very good, btw.

I guess it's the idea of weapon that I don't like...
