Would anyone be able to summarize or categorize the various efforts Obsessive Compulsive Audiophile has shared with the community? As the solutions are introduced some morph, becoming more automated, some with Audyssey or-and REW, etc., some are just what they are. I have found myself becoming a bit confused which tool is better applied for different listening goals and which tools have been successive maturation of previous tools.

Maybe @OCA can summarize?
All Denon Marantz AV receiver systems with a subwoofer should go with A1 Evo Neuron.

For stereo system DSP filters (i.e you can use your PC as your music source with a convolution engine like Equalizer APO, Camilla DSP, JRiver, Roon etc.) "Mastering Digital Room Correction" is the last posted video. I linked useful ones in the spoiler below.

You're not alone in being a bit confused, lol...

I used OCA's first video to very successfully room correct my 2ch system, and all my respect and thanks goes to him for getting me started with this.
However (IMHO), OCA goes into way more detail and depth than is absolutely necessary for good results. It can get rapidly confusing to my old brain, so...

I have gone over to another procedure - This step by step tutorial is is easy to follow, much simpler, and has worked very well for me.:

Highly recommended.

I agree with you Logan, checking the OCA YouTube channel I see many different tools, but it's not easy to find if they are evolutions (so one replaces the previous one), or if they are intended for different goals or equipments.
At this moment I see:
I think it would be good to have a short description for every one of them, and if it was superceeded by another one.
Perhaps, @OCA could add these details to the YouTube channel description, and update it with every new tool.

Thank you.

I'm not familiar with all the procedures mentioned, but perhaps this will help:

For my first room correction I used OCA's 2022 youtube video, and downloaded his pdf of that procedure.
Results were very good, but it's a pretty tedious procedure and IMHO some parts of it are unnecessary.

Then I discovered this procedure, much simpler and strait-forward. It works very well:

It's a lot simpler, if you follow his step-by-step procedure it gives great results.

Hi

These products deserve our attention and serious investigation:

I don't understand, I am not sure how it is done , how @OCA does this, but the results in my system have been mind boggling. As in Excellent to my ears. Those scripts deserve our attention. There is something beyond merely "interesting" going on. My system went from good to .. astonishing. And the differences are startling.
I have been running my system with Audyssey's Windows app: Mult-EQX. and MSO. My results confirmed by REW are good. I am very surprised to see that I have been enjoyin this system for over 6 years. It has been the cheapest, yet best system I have owned in my 50+ years as an audiophile. It took another leap when after I used OCA's scripts, in particular the Acoustica. Acoustica allow a great deal of flexibility, much more than the EVO Express.
Bear with me.
I had dialed my system very well with MSO + Audyssey Mult-EQX. Sound is good but I have headphones and IEM. In term of accuracy. my ears, (subjective of course) tells me that the Equalized HifiMan HE-6 is more accurate than my system even after Audyssey and MSO + miniDSP... Measurements are very good But ... Headphones, or IEMs let me hear more... but Music is not immersive, not a whole body experience with headphones... So I listen mostly to speakers.
Then I tried EVO Express. It is most expeditive and just following the instructions give you great results.. Quickly... yes, Very quickly. bass was overblown but there was something to the sound...
Then I tried Acoustica and used a slightly modified Harman Kardon Target curve (less downward) and ... dialed back the bass by -10 dB ... I did it yesterday 11/10/25... around 20:00 ...
It is 6:05 today, and am in the process of picking my (shattered :)) jaw from the floor  ...
I will carefully measure, to understand a bit of what is going on, meanwhile. I am pleased. miniDSP is removed from the system, thus I am not using MSO and I didn't have to go into tinkering MSO to achieve the best bass not multEQ-X for over all system to achieve the best sound I have heard from in a system I owned for almost 8 years, and It isn't subtle.
Oh! Audyssey's Dynamic EQ is off ... yet at low volume, there is no difference in the perceived sound ... or in the bass

There are a few things that need to be clarified: The scripts do not require a PC to be always running. You use the PC to set up your system. It makes you AVR do things that may astonish you. Then you just use.. You could even borrow a PC, run the configuration of your system and be done...

It requires patience and follow-up. You don't just press button and Voila < sublime sound... Although Evo Express comes pretty close ...
I would suggest to any person with a compatible AVR from Denon/Marantz to try the EVO Express or one of those scripts,

Thanks @ OCA!

Any ideas on this Express error? I tried upping the volume and moving the mic crazy close (eg ~5 feet) and still get the abort.

Unless your room is really large, this usually happens if you're using a WiFi dongle which is adding unmanageable delays.

No, speakers or subs connected to the AVR over wifi which introduce delays D&M units cannot handle.

As someone who used (successfully) the early version of Audyssey One, I have now installed new (to me) speakers, and tried Audyssey One Express.

The result has been simply stunning (to my ears). Brighter than my first calibration - but I used a strongly downward sloping target curve for that.

But the main positive is the absolute simplicity of use. Fully automated calibration. Almost nothing to set up except installing a recent beta of REW. I went from watching the video to having a calibration complete in well under an hour - probably closer to 1/2 hour.

The only issue I had was that the script didn't set the sub attenuation in the AVR, which had me scratching my head for a while.

I would strongly recommend Express to anyone trying Audyssey One for the first time. With the result I have, I don't feel the need to try one of the more advanced versions.

Thanks @OCA for this amazing piece of work.

Yes, EVO is incredible.

I would respectfully suggest that the "beta" REW reminder in the Evo intro be changed to an explicit version number (eg v4.5+).

Why?

As I already had a production REW installed, I initially glossed over that admonition. After some head scratching I realized that only the current REW *beta* version has the necessary API. Stating a minimum REW version number would future proof that for when the API eventually moves into a prod REW version.

The link is now 404.
Yes, just recently saw that. Thankfully I saved his guide early on.
If anyone is interested, PM me and I will email it to you.

This is the thread discussing this method, by "moedra", no activity there for the past year:

I'm still using this method, with great results.

I downloaded, installed and successfully ran A1 Evo Express yesterday, on a Denon 4800. I had to run it twice due to an REW update, but it took less than an hour for the whole process. Once REW updated, it took maybe 15 minutes to do 8 sweeps on a 5.1 speaker system (with no movement of the microphone!!).
It was an easy process for me, and certainly is an improvement over the Audyssey stuff I had tried before. Watch the YouTube video and it walks you through it. It's impressive work.

All of my speakers are hard-wired.
It's not a bug in the code and if you want me to understand the absurdity in your set up, better give me all the details rather than me trying to wild guess it. There's more than 6m (or 18m if you have a new model which I still don't know) measured difference to MLP between two of the speakers (or subs) in your room. This could be a large castle, extra processing somewhere in your line introducing massive delays, or a major measurement error.
