I have this amp and it is disappointing imho.
I have the KEF R300 and had LS50 (old) too I really like them... what you mention ''It sounded more bassy excited but lacks the wide sound stage'', Like the bass is uncontrolled (for lack of better term) has happened to me with underpowered amps and them (they like juice). Probably the Wiim Amp yours have better power supply, as I'm sure the yammie has.

I'm my case I think is gonna work, 2.1 with cut off @80hz, 6~8Ω impedances (not the deeps around 3Ω of the kefs), connected to a micropc to watch Youtube, Sports and series on a small 5x4 mts room. Not really for listening music, but I could watch a rock concert of something like that once in a while.

Yes with the D3 Pro, my speakers got a little excitey on the mid/lower bass and the top-end got truncated. It is a fun listen for short testings but no way i want to use it daily.

Just take care the D3 Pro does not have auto power on and auto source selector. If you leave the mains on, it does draw a few more watts of idle power and keeps it warm, so longevity and electricity is a concern.

It will be fine, is just a silly amp to watch youtube/sports/series on near field application and use a sub that I have around, nothing else/nothing more.
I can turn on/turn off stuff, from my table saw to my main audio system, my vintage gear, audio analyzer, scopes. etc etc... no big deal.

Just wanted to tell you what happened to me when I underpower the speakers similar than you used.

Hi All!

My first post here, just wanted to chime in on this nice little amp.
For the size and all the inputs, this is a great little toy! At this moment i got almost all the inputs used. LMS thru RaspberryPI into USB1, Pro-ject FM tuner thru ADC into COAX in, and TV into OPTICAL. I can't use HDMI in because USB and HDMI inputs are so close that they don't fit together at the same time. I got to carve out one side of HDMI connector to get them all in.
As for sound i can only compare it to what I have in the rack now (pictures below). Up until 2 day ago i had Focal Chorus 706V speakers but one tweeter said "bye bye". I can take a hint when it's time for a change so I got my self Elac's DBR62, courtesy of this forum.

So, O-noorus thru Focal vs Marantz, sound a little cleaner/brighter, sound stage more or less the same. O-noorus thru Elac's, sound a little darker, sound stage little narrower. Since Elac's are a little darker then Focal's and they got only a few hours of play, I think the sound will change a bit in time.
I must say all this differences in sound are "just a hair" to use the metric system and I believe my ears will come around in a few weeks.

Some pictures of my setup...
(sorry for the mess, small kids and stuff...)

Yeah, your point is well made, I'm sure there are many students, and young families with mortgages, where $300 is not easy to find. It is why I referenced my comments against the HIFI jewlery that appears in magazines. Have a look at these eye watering numbers from Sterophile's recommended power amplifiers for 2025, absolutely ridiculous when you can purchase high power SOTA amps with modules from the likes of Hypex and Purifi for between $1k - $2k.

However, I will say that my first HIFI system that I purchased while a student cost a lot more than $500 in today's $.

If you are a music lover and listen at reasonable volumes (say max 85db with 95db peaks), then the Wiim Amp Ultra is a bargain. For those with little funds and want quality HIFI I suggest you go without a few niceties for a couple of months as it deserves to be on your review list.
As an older listener I now consider 55db with peaks of 65-75 to be loud…
