O-Noorus D3 PRO - A new TPA3255 PFFB amplifier with DAC

It would be sitting in a smaller open air space, and I'd rather not have to use a fan.
Should be all right in open space with ventilation.
That said, is the temperature load dependent? I'm planning on running pretty small drivers at reasonably low volumes.
It’s not different than others really:
- every tpa3255 runs hot with 48v psu.
- less hot or warm with 36v psu
- almost cool with 32v psu

Running amplifier hard on high volume output also adds up to it. So if your speakers have high sensitivity then 32v or 36v 6a psu probably would avoid this.

Other than the obvious output difference, is there an audible difference when using higher voltages, particularly for undemanding drivers?
This would be my first mini amp - having previously only had massive Onkyo/Anthem AVRs

I'm tired of waiting for a review that may never come. Do you think it's safe to buy without having any independent measurements? And do you think the difference in sound quality is worth 55€ more than the Aiyima A80? Planning to power a pair of Klipsch RP-500M II with it.

I'm also waiting for a review. I ordered it anyway and it arrived two days ago. I paid €187, directly from the O-noorus website, without a power supply. I use a Mean Well HLG 36V 6.5A power supply. I have several class D and AB amplifiers at home. I can simply say that this is a decent amplifier with a huge number of features. I was very pleased with the 5V output from USB-C to power my VU meters. Don't expect an extensive review from me, I'm not talented for that. I don't need another amplifier at home, but I just wanted to try it and it didn't disappoint. In my opinion, the most important things are the speakers and the room. This is my first post on the forum, although I've been following it for a long time. It's a valuable source of information.

Thanks for the feedback! Do you know if there's any warranty when you order on the official website directly? I know that audiophonics offers a 2 years warranty but it's 255€ and out of stock until the second week of November.

Nytrex: I was also considering Audiophonics, but there is no option to order without a power supply. For me, as a Central European, that was the first thought. I don't know about the warranty or money back guarantee when ordering directly from the official O-noorus website, I have no experience. For a decent seller, it should be a given and I believe that it is. I have bought from China a few times and there has never been a problem with delivery, I have never had to deal with a complaint. Regarding your second question: I have several pairs of DIY speaker systems and no amplifier with TPA 3255 that I own has ever had a problem with them. My connection: RPi - O-noorus d3 Pro - DIY speaker.

All its features and input/output make it quite versatile for different applications.
FWIW, I did got impressions that highs are more pronounced with D3 Pro compared to A80, specifically because I am a bit sensitive to even slight change in those ranges.
This is relative to my setup/room/speakers though.
Tone controls works nicely without any issues and so you can make minor adjustments to your likings.
It doesn’t lack in power compared to similar amplifiers.

This would be my first mini amp - having previously only had massive Onkyo/Anthem AVRs
Let us know how your find replacing big avr with a small amplifier.

I would rather look at the feature set than the sound quality, they are more similar than different in that regard.

Looks interesting

PBTL "mono" mode ?

top watts power into 4 Ohm

still stable if load goes lower?

Has a near useless LPF for line-level SW output but no HPF for mains, which is what's actually needed ?

The D1 Pro, which has just been released, is probably the right one for you.

Although I think it's more likely to be the D1 MK II than the D1 PRO.

I will wait respond from experienced users..d1pro could be my 1st dclass. I sent PM but would be nice that someone here respond, just to know on yamaha ns555 6 ohm what to expect on lower volume with 36v, what about heating and someone mention when change bass from 1 to 0 if I remember that hear on speaker sound..cluck or something similar..don't remember model. Aiyma a20 was option too but no review here for both. Regard and respect to members.

In addition to having quality and current components: this device is extremely versatile ->

D3 PRO inherits the D3 display and shell shape, and is black.

It is a decoder and also a TPA3255 PFFB amplifier.

1、Hardware configuration ->

Decoding core: AKM AK4493S DAC chip, supports PCM 768kHz / DSD512 native hardware decoding

Amplifier module: TI TPA3255 PFFB (Post Filter Feed Back architecture)

Digital interface: XMOS XU316 USB audio solution, supports ultra-low latency asynchronous transmission

Bluetooth chip: Qualcomm QCC3084, compatible with aptX Lossless / LDAC / LC3 and other high-definition encodings

Tone: NJW1194 volume chip, supports ±10dB bass and treble adjustment

2、Input interface ->

Digital input:

USB (Type 'B' USB1: PC/mobile phone decoding - Type 'A' USB2: U disk direct reading)

HDMI ARC (TV audio return)

Optical fiber/coaxial (SPDIF, supports 24bit/192kHz)

Analog input:

RCA (input/output multiplexing)

Wireless input

Bluetooth 5.3 (aptX Lossless transmission, delay <50ms)

3、Output interface ->

Main channel: stereo output

Subwoofer :subwoofer interface (40-200Hz adjustable)

RCA multiplexing: transfer to pre-stage output in non-input state (sound source sharing mode)

In short:when RCA is not used as input, it is output.

As output, the sound source is mode shared.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Working modes (topology: AK4493S -> OP Amp-> NJW1194 -> OP Amp*2 -> TAP3255) ->

F : NJW1194 Front end

B:NJW1194 Back end

D-F mode: Decoding source from NJW1194 front-end output, TPA3255 power is disconnected, tone/volume is invalid (only DAC)

D-B mode: Decoding source from NJW1194 back-end output, TPA3255 power disconnected, tone/volume adjustable (DAC with adjustable volume)

A-F mode: Decoding source from NJW1194 front-end output, TPA3255 power on, tone/volume invalid (only Amplifier)

A-B mode: Decoding source from NJW1194 back-end output, TPA3255 power on, tone/volume adjustable (Amplifier with adjustable volume)

:D
Good morning,
just learning about this product recently. Was wondering does D3 pro allow user to bypass DAC and use the amp only? Thank you.

Any analog input, DAC has nothing to do.

The digital inputs, need Conversion from D to A

that's how you bypass the built in dac? RCA.

"john61ct" explained it already well but I think I should add a couple of things for clarity.
In general, Digital inputs (like HDMI ARC, optical, coaxial, BT, etc.) need digital to analog conversion (DAC) and analog inputs (like RCA, Aux, etc.) do not.
However, some devices do convert Analog to Digital (ADC) for some digital domain processing (like room correction, EQ, PEQ, etc.) and then perform DAC again. Example could be Wiim streamers etc.

I specifically mentioned RCA input on D3 Pro because I believe it does not perform any ADC and then DAC on its RCA input.

A line-level SW output means that changing the volume and/or bass on the amp/DAC does not affect the sub, am I right?
