O-Noorus D1 - TPA3255 PFFB Stereo Amplifier - Front Display, Tone Control (with bypass) and Remote

What is not reasonable is to produce an unbalanced PFFB TPA3255 amp in 2024 )
Well, you may not like it but it is perfectly reasonable to produce a stereo amp - that might be placed close to the DAC - with single ended inputs. Remember, we are in the sub 100$ class here.
The impact on performance is not clear at all, no reason to blame them for Fosi screwing that up in their implementation.

EDIT: And what in the world has PFFB in the output stage to do with input layout anyway?

i dont think this company has ever released any XLR products before

so i would let them do slow steps

they will probably listen to daniboun and release a XLR version for say $25 more by the end of the year though!

if a hole exists these companies seek to fill it

i do get pffb works better with XLR but remember Fosi have not done a stereo pffb unit as far

i would also love to see a pffb xlr vs. pffb rca shootout maybe even on sister products to guage the real world difference... there's a lot to learn there

Lots of people liked smsl a300 amp, if this plays without the hiss in the treble then it's enough for most consumers..

O-Noorus have balanced amplifier with TRS input though, not (xlr or TPA3255) but Infineon chip.

Any links, searching on aliexpress gives me nothing. Gonna build a first stereo for nephew based on this..

Try this:

<removed, as I just came to know that link is not ready yet>

Thanks that's for US, for Sweden I get this:
"Sorry, this item's currently unavailable in your location."

Do you not see D1 under "Products" on their "O-Noorus Audio Official Store" page on AliExpress?
Don't search for D1 or TPA3255, try under Products or All Products.

Based on this pic - aren't RCA inputs always color-coded with white and red? A bit confusing?

Yellow > Right RCA in
White > Left RCA in

I admit that it's a bit nonsense regarding the color codes

i have a few... 'observations'

1. yes the wrong color matched rca is a bit odd... I do get how these boards are populated with standardised machines and no doubt they have another product that has precedence where the rca jacks are 'correct' but they didnt change it for the D1 run... its not a showstopper but it is odd

2. as yet i am unable to determine what the subwoofer out on the D3 does... the manual does not say but i hope its something reasonable like a fixed 80hz and so i expect the same questions with the D1

3. pre-out - i hope this is a true vol. ganged pre-out... its better to have one than not i guess

4. on the display there's a 'BP', 'T&B', =/ and mute logo - what is BP and the =/ logo mean? the others are obvious

5. red as a starter color and then blue later on?

6. and this is a big one... O-noorus should be offering a 48v 5a psu as an option... they do actually test with the bigger psus and they do note power ratings with the big psus but they should be doing just the basic 48v as a starter

i did question whether they rate their units with bigger psus but it seems they are safe with them but i would rather they give you the option rather than go 3rd party.

you guys can guess what true power on 36v and 48v is like but yeah $100 with pffb... many would live with the above idiosyncracies

Few Updates

>> RIN (yellow) & LIN (white) are already listed on the port, so should be a issue. However it isn't idle for sure, don't think there can be a valid excuse for not following standards (if RED + WHITE is a standard for R + L).
Update: This will be updated to standard "Right In (Red) + Left In (White)" in next batch

2. as yet i am unable to determine what the subwoofer out on the D3 does... the manual does not say but i hope its something reasonable like a fixed 80hz and so i expect the same questions with the D1
>> I doubt it will be 80, might be more like 150 or 200 HZ but we can find the details
Update: Its fixed 80 Hz

3. pre-out - i hope this is a true vol. ganged pre-out... its better to have one than not i guess
D3's sub out is controlled by volume, so I can only say the same for this pre-out and SW out at this point
Update: SW & Pre-Out is controlled by amplifier volume

4. on the display there's a 'BP', 'T&B', =/ and mute logo - what is BP and the =/ logo mean? the others are obvious
BP = ByPass, my best guess
Update: confirmed, this is for ByPass mode

5. red as a starter color and then blue later on?
I hope so, I can say blue looks very nice as I have got blue D3
Update: Red case for now, but Blue will be available in future

totally, They should. but they sell amplifier only, so user can pick any reliable 48v xA psu

Seem to be quite a lot stuffed in there for quite a low price, so I'm curious to if it will be noticeable in the performance of it, is it going to do what other PFFB amplifiers can do?

About those RCA inputs, is it taken from an old VHS? Yellow was the standard video input colour in the past.

And this might be nothing, but those big numbers on the front is aliased, and BP, T&B and Brightness doesn't really line up with the rest. So it's not an actual photo of the thing which indicated that this ain't what you will get with a final product, but of course it might be nothing as well. I'm just a bit sensitive to especially aliasing so I couldn't ignore it :D
The rest of the pictures looks real though :)

Amplifier topology is TPA3255 PFFB, so should have similar attributes as other PFFB implementations.... similar hopefully, may not be same.
About the picture, it actually is those words there which lit up on selection (like you power up LED behind it), I have another (O-Noorus D3) with similar thing.

Has it been confirmed that someone will be sending a unit for a review?

If it measures well, with its sub-out, I'll be happy to get one to replace my Fosi V3.

No info here... We should ask to the manufacturer )

does anyone know what brand the main 63v caps are?

3,200 microfarad?
