Hey, there are these things called specifications, and then there are independent confirmations of those via measurements such as what is found on this web site. This is the best source of info for decision making IMO.

Talk talk talk by some YT reviewer is worth less than a pile of poop. They can say anything they want. Usually talk about things that cannot be quantified. The whole HiFi Audiophile business is awash in these parasites.

There is very little point they are purely a NCXXXMP module in a case and connected, they have been reviewed many times in the past.
I'd have gone with an entirely separate brand if it it was me to avoid the VL or Value thing.

I would have called it Sud. Leaving Est for a Pro Audio brand and Ouest for something not thought of yet.

Is it possible / advisable to have in one chassis
1) miniDSP 2x4HD Kit ( just the DSP no housing )
2) Hypex 1 nos NC52MP ( 50 watts stereo / channel )
3) Hypex 1 nos NC252MP ( 250 watts stereo / channel )

Idea is less clutter and DSP and Amp in 1 box
regards

We don't have a solution at present. We just launched a Hypex based DSP solution with more to come.
I will look into it, we also are thinking about stocking the NC52MP its good.

Cheers The whole idea about putting this on the front is to do exactly the opposite, to differentiate this line with its Caldarella appearance to our normal line. And for that reason the MP series only has 2 lines to instantly identify it. I will play around with positioning. I'm also being swayed over to NV-L NVL appreciate all the input certainly help when there is only 2 of us.

But the dressed up NORD line should speak for itself. If the only differences are cosmetic, then really it's a matter of a "Premium" line verses a "Standard" line, not Standard verses Value. They are both "NORD" amps, but "Value Line" implies a product with inferior performance and quality.

Maybe having a different warranty between the two lines would be an attractive offer for customers.

I just placed my order. Pretty excited, to power my beloved KEF Q350s.

Presumably switching from a Vidar, which is fine in itself. I went ADCOM 545II -> Parasound 2125 v2 -> Vidar, with the Parasound being the terrible link. No complaints, but after 7 years, I'm ready to switch out the Vidar... I can use it on an older system instead of my 35 year old janky ADCOM at the country place.

Gonna sell the Parasound asap, when it comes out of service. Not likely to see much cash from that deal.

I bought the Nord 252MP in the standard black case and love it. The case is very solid and attractive, so I believe it to be well worth the extra cost.

@boggit10 Completely thrilled with my purchase.

Arrived just days ago, I am well into enjoying the 252MP. I like the stripped down "value line" option. It feels more nuanced than that. I have a custom, purpose built amp. Only has what I want. I like that.

I may be getting very lost, but would half the point of going for a hypex ncxxxmp power amp not be to get a solid fully balanced setup? rather pay that bit more and not have the RCAs.

Isn't this unit fully balanced if you're using the XLR inputs?

I'm UK based running a dedicated 9.4.4 Trinnov / Ascendo system. I've ended up with Colins amps exclusively, after going through a few other manufacturers. I have one amp ( 6 channel 252's ) for my bed layer, a second hand 502 for LCR's and a second hand 4 channel 252 for height layer. Throughout colin has assisted me, even with the gear that was out of warranty and also not purchased directly from him which is nice.

As I'm looking at moving to 9.5.6 I will need another two channels and just wanted to add another 252 to drive TML and TMR (Ascendo The6 Wedges). I hadn't realised he had produced this solution and it's exactly what I need. What I think ( in the UK ) is great value. It means I don't need to sell what I already have and can just bolt another amp into my rack.

I will go with XLR input upgrade ( £25 ) as I'm coming out of a Trinnov.

As all my original Nord amps were 'separates' a month ago I purchased from Colin the rack mount plates for them... Photo added, as who doesn't like a little rack porn. Cheeky little Crown DSi 2000 at the bottom for a JBL 4645c, I view that as my room heater.

My exposure to Colin over the past two years is consistency of service, value of products and what I think are dapper looking amps.
