Hi
reading the forum , I have seen users that do use Equalizer APO and Volume² (a 100% portable software or installtion program no registry or file left) open source
Equalizer APO does look not easy to configure ,whilte Volume² does seem powerfull but easy to use

i'm a noob , can I ask you if you use Equalizer APO to let sound better dac/amp or headphones ?
and about Volume²?
or are software to perform scientic test ?
thanks

It looks to me the 2 programs are very different — they do very different things. From the Features section of Volume2 in Microsoft Store (see below), it is only for controlling Windows volume. (Also, only the skins parts are open sourced, not Volume2 itself.)

Equalizer APO is an audio equalizer that let you adjust/alter/control the frequency response of the Windows audio output. Volume2 may make it more convenient, but it seems to me it doesn't do anything to the audio output that a standard Windows setup can't do. Equalizer APO, OTOH, provides very valuable capabilities that do not come standard with Windows.

Headphones are pretty easy to improve with software like eapo. You find an eq profile already created for your model. Plug in those settings and then tweak to taste. Room eq for speakers woukd require you do some measuring of your listening set up and read up on how to adjust.

Several sources. Generally oratory1990 is very well regarded if he has measured your particular model https://www.reddit.com/r/oratory1990/wiki/index/list_of_presets/ then manually plug those settings into Peace and tweak after that (usually the bass shelf up or down plus some other filters that he indicates can be changed and what effect)

Or I believe Peace/ EAPO has AutoEQ built in which allows you to select pre set configurations for your model.

Most Grados (most headphones full stop in fact) tend to need a decent amount more bass and Grados do tend to have pretty wild high mids/ treble.

A very easy way is to use @jaakkopasanen's AutoEq web app.

do you know if there is amp datatabse? For example many Marantz amps have less bass and high treble?
thanks
