Nominate Your Favorite Track of 2024 (Contest)

"I found Ella on a Sunday doom-scroll, being a little curious about all the people who had used an improvised piano clip I had posted a few weeks earlier in their own content. Amidst all the noise I found Ella's video and her mesmerising voice over my improvisation just floored me. After I had listened to it about 30 times I decided to just get in touch. A couple of weeks later she was on a plane to Iceland where we finished the song and filmed the video. A beautiful reminder of what social media can really bring to creativity."

(Je n'ai écouté que les 4 premières pages mais je sens déjà quel morceau va gagner, et probablement à juste titre. J'en écouterai d'autres dans les prochains jours)
How do you know that my proposition will be chosen by the majority of votes !!!??? :)

I would hate to see what you do to life's rules when you don't appreciate them.
Ah, it's ok, I can't change the rules of the competition, but I can change how I decide to vote re the Likes in this competition, so I've got my own rules for that - just music produced in 2024.

Okay, thank you for the inspirational entries. I was actually already wondering what a bunch of people that are interested in measurements of hi-fi equipment would listen to. Now, i know. I especially liked the Asian music. Many of you got a like from me and made it onto my playlists. These are genres i like but know almost nothing about. So thanks again people.
As for myself, forgive me, I have chosen a older piece from Till Brönner and Dieter Ilg. I could not come up with something else. I like the imho simplicity, perfect execution and exquisite mastering shown here.

Well, I am way too late to this thread to hope to win, but I thought this was a really impressive arrangement and it came out this year. In the making-of he shows how he built his harmonies around the lead singers, I think there were over 300 vocal clips in this song. Technically an acapella version, but if you can sing >4 octaves and you're good with a DAW I guess instruments are optional.

I have Djesse volume 4 on vinyl, (and I only buy 5 records a year). Great album.

Sorry if this has been already presented but I feel it's so great, doesn't matter.
Warning: Don't attempt this at home please, you will probably fail unless you have a couple of very talented daughters and have been brought up listening to Gentle Giant!!
I still play Gentle Giant! Their only problem was the poor vocals ... at least I always felt the vocals spoilt the music at times, and this inhibited the band's success. Anyway, this band has one. She's not incredible, but certainly a huge improvement. Thanks for posting this up.

oh my god, I don't remember the last time I saw such a collection of lifeless,
boring as guts with oil, geriatric sleepers designed only for one purpose,
so that the music wouldn't disturb you in the elevator.
You leave me no choice.

Right, how many buttons on a synth would it take to play this? I'm going to say four. There are many different ways to bore someone, and if I want to watch CGI cartoons there are better ones.

Yeah there is an advantage to winning to be on a early page. But for me just finding new good music/artists is a bonus. I don't expect to win. I could have named a dozen top 2024 tunes. I just picked the most innovative. That album had at least three.
For that reason, I'm going through backwards. If anyone sees this, consider it.
