Nominate Your Favorite Track of 2024 (Contest)

@amirm stated clearly that earlier is OK. The post has been reposted at least 2 or 3 more times.
Ha, I don't agree with that though so I'll be ignoring all music not produced in 2024, ha! From a logical point of view it's more interesting to have it as a yearly thread that is just focussed on that years music, so I'm going with that regardless of what the rules are.

Well, I am way too late to this thread to hope to win, but I thought this was a really impressive arrangement and it came out this year. In the making-of he shows how he built his harmonies around the lead singers, I think there were over 300 vocal clips in this song. Technically an acapella version, but if you can sing >4 octaves and you're good with a DAW I guess instruments are optional.

oh my god, I don't remember the last time I saw such a collection of lifeless,
boring as guts with oil, geriatric sleepers designed only for one purpose,
so that the music wouldn't disturb you in the elevator.
You leave me no choice.

(I've only listened through the first 4 pages but I feel which track is gonna win already, and probably deservedly so. I'll listen to some more though over next days)

I would hate to see what you do to life's rules when you don't appreciate them.

According to roon I don’t have one specific track I could define as a “favourite” but rather two albums that are tied for most plays this year, they only really work when listened in entirety so I’ll refrain from posting them.

I’ll have a listen through the tracks posted from page one on this thread over the next two days and choose my favourite though.

My discovery of the year has been Rosalia. Her album "El Mal Querer" is sublime. Her "Los Angeles" album is some of the best Flamenco I've heard.

But as the rules are songs from 2024, I'll nominate Sakura, which is as lovely a song as any she's recorded.

Not the best Shellac album, but there will be no more, so...

I will always remember the date May 7, 2024, and the sudden death of Steve Albini. I was shocked and it was the worst moment of this year.

The happy moment for me this year was that Steve’s friends in The Jesus Lizard released a new album after a break of 26 years, which I find really good. It may have been even better if Albini made the record.

A nomination of the type of music The Jesus Lizard plays will most likely not generate a win in this thread, but I post it anyway. :)

Calm down bro, why so negatywe? :) Maybe you just need to upgrade to the right equipment to be able to fully cherish the beauty served. Or attend some Ayurveda course to unblock some chakras .

Anyway, I asked the machine and it provided "the cure" to your madness :p:
