Noisy Kali Audio WS-6.2 - is my unit broken?

I don’t know why, but my unit doesn’t make noise now.

I didn’t change anything. For a period of time I used just the 80Hz mode.

Recently I tried the LFE mode, and has disappeared.

Or… I lost ear within this later months
:)
Thats very strange indeed. Same noise floor? First day i got it i didnt notice it until nightfall as it isnt that loud... at night with closed windows it is impossible not to hear it tho, even from a couple meters away. Same as reported by the first few users.

Same experience in Europe for BStock unit bought in Europe recently. Imo its plain noise in the input stage, pre ADC. My experience doesnt align with Aku's, the noise is still there when theres an active signal, simply harder to notice. 80hz cuts it at the dsp stage. LFE/120 mode cuts it partially as it would be around -12db assuming a 24db/octave filter. External makes it clearly listenable from MLP, especially during quiet hours. So i assume the fix from Kali is a dsp notch, because if it were fully fixable it would disappear completely, not go down by 8db or whatever. Anyway, im keeping it since theres nothing that can touch it for the 469 i paid right now in the market and im using it for music and tv duty without multichannel. Hard to say if eletrically fixed batches ever made it to Europe. A shame Kali hasnt stricter testing before releasing products, as they clearly are capable of putting out great stuff. Great thread and props to aku for the initial characterization, it was a real time saver.

I must stand corrected. @aku is righ, upon further testing i confirmed whenever the input signal crosses a boundary(i tried 10khz tones i couldnt here) the strange rumble noise around 200hz quickly disappears, so clearly the amp can function full range without noise and its not a pre adc issue. So if someone was really determined they could use the second rca to keep the noise at bay.... very quircky tho.

Yes, as I mentioned earlier in the thread, even using a DAC with high ultrasonic noise (in my case a Focusrite Scarlett soundcard) causes the gate to open and the noise to disappear.
Connecting an ultrasound source to the other channel would also probably work...
