I'm concerned abou a over reliance on mathematical modelling in this outbreak Vs surveying a cross section of scientific expertise in various Fields.

Professor Jonna (philosophy) has been highly involved in how our Western healthcare systems has been more and more focused on administration/charts/figures instead of doctors/nurses devoting their time to patients, I’ve seen some discouraging figures on how much time a doctor spends with patients vs admin tasks.

The docs are spending as much or more time tapping on their iPads and inputting data after seeing a patient than they spend with the patient. And because of managed care, they are being limited to 10 to 15 minute appointments for most patient visits.

Thanks for the insights on the video. I hadn't gotten as far as the molesting thing, and honestly probably wouldn't have posted it if I had...
I worry about the implications of whats seems to be overreaction of constant doom and gloom and overly widespread and overly long shut downs right now. Not because I think the virus isn't as bad as they're saying it could be. I also think the lock-downs are clearly effective. However, I think if all media, politicians, etc continue with 'the sky is falling it'll never get better' and if we have a lull, or an apparent cessation in cases over the summer, people could get a Y2K feeling about the virus. By that I mean with Y2K, like this, experts found the issue, got scared, plans were made, processes set in place, and work done, and by and large it worked to cure the problem before it became a big one, which led most people to say "Y2k was a hoax".

If people who have been out of work too long, or away from others too long (this is all just fine for me btw), isolated etc, don't see the doom and gloom hyped in the news come to fruition, then its very likely they'll not follow orders/reasonable precautions if we have a 2nd wave in the fall (fingers crossed we don't). The little I know of the Spanish Flu showed that the 2nd wave was considerably more deadly and dangerous than the first. If that happens with COVID and people stop listening to the "media that cried wolf" so to speak, there could be serious trouble.

"Spanish flu" btw was not so named because it was known to come from Spain. In fact these is no consensus on where it came from (one of the first cases was in the US).
