Nice turntables. Attached picture is an absolute requirement.

Thanks, no - this was a mat I found that had the exact size, and did not have a logo on it. Can't find it again, now - should have ordered a couple when I had the chance.

Cheers

Why not use the felt mat that it suppose to work with?

What type of mat, not to mention on what type of platter - that's a whole thread in itself. Search the forum, and I am sure you can get a good idea of why and how people choose.
I use a variety of mats, on a variety of tables.
Cheers

Thank you for the precision, I was trying to help, I did not realize that you were experimenting with mat.
So, if I understand you, you are saying you prefer your LP 12 with a different mat. I never tried a different mat on any of my TT. You are well ahead of me.
So many ways to enjoy our hobby,

This is a mid-60s Thorens TD121 turntable I inherited from my Dad. That tonearm is just art to my eyes. Not the best sounding turntable but has some nostalgic value for sure.

I agree with you regarding that tonearm. Nice!

I've always adored many of the better tonearms out there since my teens when I first became seduced by hi-fi technology. They are one of the most appealing hi-fi technologies out there. The glorious SME Series V being perhaps my favourite of the older ones I know of:

I can’t face belt drive at all but SME’s synergy is suitably over the top with a series IV arm, Winfield cartridge and Nagra phono stage built in.

Nice really small design. Ideal for the baller who just wants to drop the tonearm knowing that the power axis of SME Ortofon and Nagra will take care of matters

Just added. Model 15 mk2 309 arm. Koetsu black cartridge. Separate psu and motor Controller. Damped chassis suspended with the bands. Bearing spins for days. Dead quiet. With my strobe i detect no drift. Will place a recorded test tone later to validate.

I replaced a long enjoyed Michell. The sme is built like a tank. Highly engineered. Sounds fantastic.

The final version of my Musical Hall Stealth. Fitted with a Project 10" EVO AS tonearm. Not that easy for various reasons, including that the top layer on the tt is actually 7mm or so of aluminium, undiscovered until drilling. Vintage Technics Plusarm on the left for 78 shellac cart duties.

Here's my Michell Gyro SE with Tecnoarm and old Koetsu Black, complete with mess. I believe I'm playing an old pressing of Led Zeppelin II here.

Current state of the system, cleaned some stuff off the rack so it's looking rather spare. And my hearing is getting bad enough that I can't hear the artifacts in the cymbals on Katy Lied anymore, making it even better now.
Nice system.
I own the same MS pre-amp. Today I ordered replacement batteries and 2 battery holders for $30 total. MS sells their kit for $200!! When I went to pick it up, before even opening the case, I heard a rattle. The clear glass in front of the green light became unglued, so I crazy glued it back together. Pretty crazy that it won't work without the batteries connected (nor with the power cord) and the batteries are expected to only last 4 years (so $200 every 4 years!)
