I mostly use streaming, though since my (new) record collection expanded from 3 to 10+ I decided to replace the previous black plastic 80s model (was a really decent Sansui none the less) with this CEC BD1000 for a really good price, that looks in my opinion better with the loudspeakers and au505 amp. I should perhaps have it fine tuned and replace the suspension foam at some point (if there is any), but it works above expectations. Great sound as well.

The stylus is not seperatly replaceble. You need to replace the whole cartridge...

Ah I see. It was this bit on their site that confused me

“This stylus is only suitable for Black Edition Wheel”

So you replace the cart but you can only use the cart with elliptical with the silver version and the cart with the shibata with the black one

How do you like your au-505? I got one a few months back and like it a lot. the 505 works surprisingly well with my AR4xa speakers for more nearfield listening.

Congrats. It is a difficult to replace capacitor coupled amp in my opinion. Opened a topic about it a while ago. It has a warm colored signature, bit off treble roll-off with blooming bass. I mainly play Jazz and classic rock and it gives a nice illusion of expansion. : )

I recently found a beautiful Technics SL-1100 out in the wild for sale at one of my favorite record stores and had to have it for my desktop system. Sits right next to me and makes me feel like a DJ I fitted it with an Audio Technica AT6006R automatic tonearm lifter (for when I get caught in meetings) and a Denon DL-110 and it sounds incredible. This thing is an absolute delight to operate and I’d consider placing it in my main system to supplant my Sansui SR-929.

I like it very much. A bit expensive for what it is though. Construction is a bit sloppy, the arm lift feels really cheap, the decorative rim of the platter is slightly off center..
I initially bought a SL-1200 GR2. In person several details make no sense: the power switch is weird, the speed slider is pointless and takes space.
Eventually it developed a PSU noise issue and I swapped it for the 1300. I think the arm is the same, the platter and the motor are upgraded.

Yeah wonky arm lifts are the norm for most of the new models except the G and above. Mine has actually settled down and is fine now. Or I'm used to it. It has never dropped the stylus on the LP or such. I did raise the arm lift a bit and that seemed to be the ticket.

It is OK, it works, but on a $4k piece of gear it is not what I would have expected. For that kind of money I would have expected better.
Apparently if you want a better arm you need to shell out another $1k and get the SL-1200G, which comes with the magnesium pipe and a somewhat improved lift

I'm new here and crazy enough to share my selection of vintage players. Here we go:
Main room:
Two Denon DP-75 in nicely refurbished frames (originally Denon DK-110) with two different arms.
One is the Grace G-545 with the Denon DL-303 (the absolute reference system in my universe of systems).
The other is the Fidelity Research FR-54 with the Grado Sonata 3 HO. Nice wooden brick but decent sounding system. Love it (for now ).

The third player in Xosh's universe is the black beauty of Pioneer: the PL-1800, currently equipped with an Linn Koil, which I found very interesting, currently defeating my Hana SL:
